Need to find PS/PS2 Movie Extracting Tools. Anyone have it?

Post by DarkSchneider » Sun Mar 09, 2003 10:46 pm

Hey all,

Wasn't sure where to post this so I chose here. Anyway, I'm looking for a good PSX and PS2 Movie Extractor. Does anyone know where I can find that online? It'd really help a lot! Thanks!

Yes, you're supposed to read the guide. I know, it hurts, but just try to do it.

for PS games, you can use PsxMC or PSXPlay and the PSXdeAvi patch. I personally use PsxMC cuz PSXPlay doesn't work for me, but it might for you. both of them are also slightly in Japanese, but not too much to hinder performance. they're available at this web site.

for PS2 Games, you have two choices: either use an in-the-works program called PSSPlex (which uses ur dvd drive), or use a capture card to get the footage from a vcr and ur PS2. the PSSPlex converts the movie files to .pss files, and then u use DVD2Avi to create a .d2v file. then u make an avs file to load that into Premiere (which i assume ur using). i haven't tried this b4 since i don't play PS2, and i can't guarentee that it'll work. PSSPlex is available here and the DVD2Avi comes with the AMVapp, provided by AbsoluteDestiny.

capturing, however, will definitely work.. although it can be a bit expensive depending on what card u must buy. this requires that u hok up ur PS2 to a vcr and connect ur vcr to ur capture card on ur comp. i think a cable/cord comes with the capture card if u decide to buy one.

again, i can't guarantee anything.. cuz i haven't tried this b4. maybe i should be the last one to help ya out. :?

for more info, check out the guide that trythil linked, or click the "Search" button at the top of this page. type in "ps rip" or "ps2 rip" in the search column and make sure to press the button next to "Search for all terms".

The PS2 Option should work, cause I have a DVD Rom. Plus I have those two programs, PsxMC & PSXPlay, but not the the patch. Guess that's another thing I gotta look for. Thanks!

I have a new problem

Ok, PSS Play doesn't really work, it looks for PSS files which Final Fantasy X doesn't seem to have. But that's ok, I found an FFX movie extractor, it just extracts an m2v and a wav and I just multiplex it in TMPEG. That's cool. But tell me, for a title like Xenosaga, What utility do I use and where do I find it. I found a program on a german site, but when I open it, I can't make it out, just sybols and underlines with absolutely no help file whatsoever. Can anyone again tell me where to go? Is there a different software to use or something, or am I missing something here? Arigato!
