I am new to making amv's and I got a couple questions:

1. What kind of songs are good to use?

2. What do you guys use as editing software?

3. And how can I cut videos and keep the cutted parts and save them to my documents, so i can use them in other AMV's.

One of these days, I might add a section on Song Selection, but "Generally speaking, if the audio does a good job at maintaining listener attention, it would be a good song for an AMV."
Personally, I think the tell-tale sign of a good song is dynamic structure with ups and downs; where you get some expected and some unexpected stuff happening.

Here is what I did for a song.

Find a song that you may want to use in your video and put it on Pandora. Listen until you find something that you like.
