Why are QCs anonymous?

I know site mods/admins can see who leaves QCs, but the users can't. Why is this? Shouldn't you have to own what you're saying, good or bad?

This isn't just about offensive remarks left anonymously, but the inability to correct errors of fact, or let the person know they've commented on the wrong video, or ask for clarification on a comment you don't understand. It's quite frustrating to receive comments of any sort and not be able to respond, either positively or negatively.

This is a major reason I regret every time I put something on LOCAL and why I don't do it very often. People leave feedback, especially confusing feedback, I am unable to respond to.

I wish they weren't anonymous also. I've gotten a few QCs that I didn't understand what the person was talking about and would like to be able to get clarification.

It's an option. If you don't want it to be anonymous just sign you QCs. It's what I do most of the time

Unless I'm misunderstanding the OP, the request is for all QCs to be signed so the creator can respond. Then again, maybe it isn't necessary to know who wrote a comment if there's a way to reply without it.

But that's what I'm saying. It's anonymous for a reason. If you want to open up an actual dialogue about it then sign your name at the end and the creator can PM you. If not, too bad.

that would be pretty sweet. keep anonymity but still be able to have a bit of discussion if need be.

i don't see why this couldn't work, good idea.
