Thanks for your thoughts. As per the reviews of the videos, it'll be up to the hosts to review the videos however they want. I really want every episode to be unique in that aspect of having the hosts decide the tone/attitude/pacing of the show because it'll get monotonous if we just do the same thing every month. However, I will be editing the whole session just in case things get out of hand and go into just a massive flame-fest - not just for the review, but the whole episode in general. I don't think I'll be restating what people have said in the video announcements because people have easy access to that, and I'd just be regurgitating that information.DriftRoot wrote:Just please be careful with how things are "reviewed," particularly if there is a concern about making the broadcast all-inclusive and not potentially scaring anyone off.Koopiskeva wrote:
Currently, the 'new' format will have the following on each episode:
- AMV News
- Video highlights/reviews
- Editor Interview
Maybe instead of the anchor person presenting the review as if it was in their own words (no idea if this is what you had in mind), you could "review" videos by pulling from a range comments made about them in announcement threads. That way everything is already public, everyone is already being held accountable for what they said and the comments already have a place where they're being addressed by the video creator.
It would also give people who do leave comments in announcement threads an extra reason to post informative, constructive feedback and encourage creators to make announcements about their new videos.
Just my 2 cents...maybe you already had something else in mind...

Alternatively if anyone bitches about a 'harsh' review or something just go 'Hey, at least we didn't have godix on to review it.'

Hmm... rather than letting people vote on the guest hosts, would it make more sense for them to vote on the topic of discussion, with the selection of hosts who can best talk about that topic being up to you?

Re: AMV Radio v2.0
I can agree with this, but I'll have to think it over for now mainly because right now, I am leaving the topics of discussion up to the guest hosts - so it would essentially be the same result, but different approach. Meaning that the guests hosts would be talking about the topics which they would have something to say about if they were the ones selecting it. The idea behind people voting on the guest hosts is that the listeners would be inclined to listen because they want to hear what a certain host has to say. Having the topic chosen before the guests could make it a hit or miss if a certain guest just doesn't have anything to say about that topic, even if I did choose the hosts.jasper-isis wrote:Hmm... rather than letting people vote on the guest hosts, would it make more sense for them to vote on the topic of discussion, with the selection of hosts who can best talk about that topic being up to you?

Anyways, the first 'guest hosts' have already been selected for the first run, slated to be aired by January 1, 2009. The first guest hosts are Mitch (Niotex) and Andre (Kristyrat). Also, all upcoming show formats and such will be answered on the first episode.

Re: AMV Radio v2.0
Would the guest hosts be rotated or would it be completely up to fan vote? If the same hosts are voted in every month, does that mean we would get the same show every month?

On that note, would the voting be write-ins of whichever name the voter wants? Or will there be a nomination pool to vote from?mexicanjunior wrote:Would the guest hosts be rotated or would it be completely up to fan vote? I think it should just be rotated through those who are active in the community, eventually letting us all host.
