FTP IS UP AND WORKING!
(BTW there is NO password, just username: fantasia. Drop a line if you still have trouble)
Thanks to those who helped me troubleshoot.
I'll try to fill in the folders now and get everything where it's supposed to be. I'll also keep an eye on the inbox so upload those WIP's. I'll have a new beta shortly.

ORIGINAL FTP BACK UP
I've got a usable connection now and can once again put the FTP up. It should be available nearly full-time until Tuesday, at which point it will only be up on evenings, but at least that way all of the old stuff will once again be available.
Sorry about the wait, I just had some stuff to deal with here with wiring and construction junk before I could come back to take a look at the project. On the bright side, the insulation and wiring is done, and the drywall folks are coming next week. After they're done I should be able to set up a desktop system for continuous service.
On other good news, the Linux video guide is now half done and I managed to complete the 13'37" video on my way home from Rochester, so I don't exactly have nothing to show for the past week.
Once again, sorry for my lapse on the project, it's been longer than I thought it would be and at the most inconvenient possible time. Just try to understand that I'm living out of my sister's floor and the back of my car right now, so quite a few things are in disarray.

Crap, I forgot to post the new address of the old FTP:
ftp://192.168.0.3/instrumentality/
I should warn you that the IPs are on a floating-address router, so the '3' might be anything from '0' to '4' if you can't get through, depending upon whether other machines are connected.

In my tradition of triple-posts, I think I'll add that I've tried to sort out the completed or very nearly completed videos into 16:9 and 4:3, but there are some in-between ones that I'd like to hear the editor's opinions on before cutting to one of those aspects. For distribution I believe it'd be a good idea to create a fullscreen "part one", end it with an intermission bit, and start a widescreen "part two" with the same intermission bit. This will help quite a bit with the encoding, not to mention the downloadability of the film while still making it clear that they are part of one large project.
On the "A Boy I Knew" piece: I understand the editing with the odd border and all, but it looks out of place with the other videos, and I was wondering whether it'd be better to trim it to a 4:3 or a 16:9 version without the black borders. I'm thinking 4:3, as the 16:9 I tried has those bevel-looking edges on the sides, but not the top and bottom, but I want to hear what Mr. Nguyen has to say about it.
On Pen-Pen's "Memories": I can't get yours to neatly crop or resize at all. It seems you've encoded it in some odd flavor of Mpeg4 that will play back as a DivX without problems, but which my editing software (which normally handles Div3, 4, and 5 files just fine) thinks is corrupted and refuses to properly represent. Any chance of sending a Huffman or XviD or something like that so I can try the aspects and resizing on it?
I have started looking into the narrative sections, and think I will be able to do them myself with what I've learned on this project and through writing the Linux Video guide. I'll be started on some tests for that this weekend, if life allows, to play with some of the possibilities I have in my mind right now. As soon as any of them start to resemble what I'm thinking of I'll post them for review and suggestions.

I'll check the FTP soon.
I've really been de-wired in the last 2 days, and probably will be in the next little while. Hopefully though, I'll get a look at more betas once they're up.
As far as resizing and aspect ratios - well, that's really something to look at on an individual basis. I'd just be cautious with trying to crop some of them, since it obviously wouldn't work with some of them, especially the ones that could have things like titles near the edges.
Speaking of titles - well, it sound like we got yet more
I really don't think there's any real problem with using them like this. They're really a very good thing in instrumental videos most of the time. Just be careful to not overuse them in the video itself, that's all...
I even missed the titles in 13'37"/Third Stone when they were gone... hope they're back now

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Mmm...yes - none of the videos are to be cropped carelessly. That's why I'm trying to do tests where I try cropped versions to compare them with the original and see if there's anything significant missing. Then I'd run each one past the original creator to see if they agree. Most of them are pretty close to either the fullscreen or widescreen aspect, so it shouldn't cause too much of a problem. It also doesn't say anything about how you do your individual releases outside the project, which can be in any size and aspect you want.
Speaking of the dynamically changing last number in my IP - you now want to go to:
ftp://192.168.0.2/instrumentality/
Everything else stays constant, it's just the last number that keeps shifting everytime I'm disconnected (someone unplugged the master chord before the router downstairs last night. Probably visiting relatives, one of the kids also managed to break off our shower head this morning trying to hang from it - baka).

Ugh!
I can't connect to any FTP server! Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I just keep getting unable to connect. It might just be that the FTP isn't up at the time I try to connect. Oh yeah, I've been kinda lazy with my wip. Haven't really worked on it ever since I got Far Cry. I still have a good month to work on it so I should be fine. I'll keep trying the FTP every once and a while. Anubisx00 out ^_^!
