I do this too.
Same.
And then after I'm finished I never want to watch it again. ~_~
 Really? After I'm done my AMV, I'll loop it for at least a day straight!
The only reason I stop is because I think to myself I'm not going to see anything new. Stop this madness now!

I'll work on a video and then stop because I got this great idea and start working on that, then move on to the next... ect... In the end I wind up with tons of un-finished projects that I may wind up going back to and finishing in the future. Generally, the number of videos I come out with in a years worth of time all depends on which ones I can finish before my muse re-directs me to a new idea...
To hit on this more, I had 5 different ideas for videos to submit to AWA Pro this year. In the end the video I worked on this weekend and am sending I just got the idea for on Friday night and started working on it Saturday evening (grabbing clips, ect.) Grant it, I already had the source prepped thanks to a few other ideas, but in the end the one that I actually worked on was something new, not any of the others I've been planning for months/weeks.

9 times out of 10, I will rip footage, get REALLY excited about an idea, try to edit it, become disheartened and then delete everything in a fit of rage. Oh, and all of this is within a span of 2-3 hours.

More Flaws:

I think my videos are amazing and then a few months later when I'm more experienced they look like crap to me.

I don't like watching amvs with country songs, or instrumental(unless it's something that someone is showing me, and I do like it somehow)

I hate editors that are worse than me(even know i'm pretty good) saying I did something wrong, when they make that same mistake in their videos.

I hate most AMVS and try to like them, but still hate them.(so sorry but most suck)

I don't think I could do a collab because I didn't need people being judgemental on my work, especially if theirs suck.

-Still have yet to release a video in a proper aspect ratio, surprised that more people haven't ripped my head off about that. In fact, in still pretty shaky when it comes to some of the technical side of this hobby.
- It takes me too damn long to develop ideas, I wish I could work faster overall.
- Sometimes I can edit for hours on end, sometimes I can't get squat done.
- I have a terrible tendency to forget about contest deadlines and have to submit at the very last second (Or not submit at all which has happened far too many times)
- I wish I could participate more in the community, I don't know why don't.

Here goes:

-My focus is either acute or half-hearted.

-All of my emotional investment is in my most recent work, I doubt I could have two real projects going at once, one would get forgotten.

-If I stop work for more than a few days I lose inertia... Have finished videos that could have used another round of refinement because of this, and so i cringe to rewatch parts.

-I keep trying to mask with layers and layers of color keying, even when it's clearly a dumb idea.

-I've never worked on an action sequence of more than 20 seconds.

-An idea requiring too many sources overwhelmes me and is apt to get put on hold indefinately.

-Weak on the technical side. (But have figured out how to get the guides onto my kindle, so step 1 in tech self-improvement- check!)

-Lazy about learning new programs.

-I find the tech flaws in the first video I made for a convention charming.

- I have a ton of unfinished projects (like 12) that sit around until a convention or some deadline comes up, then I do a bunch of work on them and still miss the deadline |:>

- I'm all about concept, I usually don't think I've done enough with a video unless it has a great concept, but I've always had this secret desire to make effects spam and edge out Nostromo, also becoming famous in Russia. It'll never happen because I don't like effects for the sake of effects.

- I have the issue with previews too...while I'm editing I think stuff is brilliant, but when I render a final, it looks like complete ass to me.

- I also get the "you don't know how to synch" thing often...since I focus more on particular subtle things than the obvious ones. I was really happy with how my "anti-synch" in daydream turned out, but that's the thing I got called on more than anything.

- I don't take the hobby very seriously at all. Maybe that's why I'm fairly lazy in my release cycle. It helps that I'm also making a movie which eats up my would-be AMV time....so biggest AMV ever?

- I second guess everything. I eventually had to learn to go with a first impression, or after constructive criticism, decide on a concept and just go with it.

-Technically I'm pretty proficient, but I still like deen() :awesome: :awesome: :awesome:

That's my beta experience in a nutshell.. so its tough for me when people just reply with "its good" or something else similar
It's helpful to have both groups of people... but if they're just saying "its good" to be nice, I get very angry with them.

Looping for a day straight is part of the post-production process. Gotta iron out all those loose frames, glitches, tiny imperceptible flaws. :P

~I want to edit to Darren Hayes all the time.
~I love complicated lyric-sync. I love reinterpreting the lyrics into a new storyline. I love lyrics! So I'm probably pretty useless to people who don't speak English.

This is the one that bugs me the most:
~Editing is hard. >< --I mean the creative parts, the stuff that matters-- I find it all very challenging. Some people make it look so easy. I don't know how they do it. <<
