I finally finished my last final [sigh of relief]. Now, I say to myself, "BACK TO WORK!".
I've put the titles back into 13'37"/Third Stone and posted the result as v2.1. I've also managed to significantly improve the compression ratio (a 67MB 13-minute video that's not butt-ugly - how can this be done?), though I think I'll opt for a bit larger a file for the final compressed release. I'll also finish the touch-up work to clean up the stray black frames and as many of the remaining compression artifacts as possible. If I'm lucky, I might actually end up producing the best-looking fansub-sourced video ever. Ironicly, almost immediately after finishing it I'll finally be working again and able to buy the DVDs (along with Haibane and Evangelion, which I'd also like to pick up if I can find them as sets).
Along with the frame-by-frame touch-up work on 13'37", I'll be working on the Linux video editing guide, as I think it's already been almost a month since I mentioned it to AbsoluteDestiny and it's rather unbecoming to take so long on such a simple task. If I'm still a bit slow on the administrative response cycle, you'll know why.
I've also finally gotten around to catching up on the most recent versions of all of your videos. Some really nice stuff in there. I've really got to give props to Pen-Pen for the Requiem video, that's really coming together nicely, seems to be either at or very near its completion. I also have to say that I really like how Anubis's EVA video is shaping up - the part of the song that's done really seems done, and it'll be nice to see where it goes for the rest.
Songbird - er, I'm not seeing your video on my server. Maybe I've got some names confused or it was lost when my hard disk failed or something, but I don't think it's up there. If you'd care to upload it again that'd be great.
---
I don't know if this got buried before, but there's a video called "The Alchemist" by a Maverick[some numbers] that was put up recently. It looks like it could easily make the deadline, and he says the completed version would only be about two minutes long, so it won't bulk up on the length of the project too much, but I think it'd be nice to gather some feedback here for it, as was done for the other videos.

w00t, yay no more finals! i have the feeling the more i think about them, the sadder i'll get, so out of sight = out of mind is my philosophy.
which also means more reviewing of videos in progress now.
kingmob, we're cutting off new videos to this project, but you can check out the Instrumentality 2 project. the thread is http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/v ... hp?t=34031
and maverick, i remember him saying he'd do another video in place of his techno song, so i assume this is it.

I know. But it was the only way to get rid of all the Western sounding stuff. 8)pen-pen2002 wrote:Songbird - I finally heard the song. The audio editing is well done but the piece feels very short, I don't know if it was necessary to cut it down that much. It feels kind of weird because there is little to no build up, it's like a highlights reel.

I'm uploading 0.3 alpha of my video to the inbox. fixed some timing accuracy, more edits, and some soft effects. 40~ more seconds of toogage aswell.
Btw, rose4emely, what is Warriors End Sequence that I am seeing in my outbox? I think you might have mixed up someone elses vid as mine maybe?
When i tried to download it though, it said file open error, so maybe you moved it and left an old invalid static link there or something. *looks at last post in the Topic Review window* OH, I am noticing its songbird's entry lol
Well her vid is showing up in my folder for whatever reason, just FYI ^^
