That depends.. Considering almost all cons present the videos in the contest in mpeg2 best is to encode it yourself into mpeg2... I've myself run 2 contests for the past 5 years and there has been very little quality issues with mpeg2 encodings. Just make sure to use a decent bit rate and setting..NightlHlawk wrote:As far I knew, that was the best way (quality-wise) of sending an AMV to a con.

quick formatting question,
One of my videos is set at a 16:9, 720x480, I wanted to know if it is better to keep it at this size for convention entry or should i add my own borders and turn it into a 4:3, 720 file? I usually use 4:3, but the DVDs i used on two of my videos are formatted at 16:9 and I usually try to keep the original size when I finish my videos. I never entered a contest with 16:9 footage, so I'd like to know if i should add borders or just send it as is. Thank you.

This is how I see things:
A bad AMV makes it look easy
A good AMV makes it look fun
A great AMV makes it look hard
However, the best AMVs make it look impossible

There was one minor glitch tho, IE did not let me rename my folder, so my vid is in "New folder 2", hope that isn't a problem
