Here's a great way to block stupid people's avatars:

Well, so long as you're using Mozilla or Firefox. If you're using something like IE then you deserve to be inundated with crap.

You mean slow to load?Ixidor, reality sculptor wrote:I Fucking HATE Mozilla Firefox, its SOOOOO slow.... and it slows down my computer when i use it, and it has no software whatsoever..
In that instance IE has an unfair advantage because the browser is intergrated into the damn operating system.

It's fast here, on two platforms -- Windows XP SP2 and Gentoo Linux, running on both an Athlon 64 3400+ and a P4 Mobile / 1.7 GHz. Both tend to run under extremely high loads at all times, and Firefox still runs fine, without interrupting any other processes. Maybe you need to get your system tuned.Ixidor, reality sculptor wrote:I Fucking HATE Mozilla Firefox, its SOOOOO slow.... and it slows down my computer when i use it, and it has no software whatsoever..

Oh, and there's plenty of "software" for the thing -- go find some extensions. Here's a good place to start:
https://addons.update.mozilla.org/extensions/
I've yet to come across an extension that won't let me do what any other browser can do. Except, of course, be riddled with privacy-raping crap and broken rendering of modern standards, which is what IE excels at.

no, i meant it makes my harddrive go berserk. i click on firefox and my busy light blinks like crazy, and i cant install certain programs, so i stick with the virus infested IE.AbsoluteDestiny wrote:You mean slow to load?Ixidor, reality sculptor wrote:I Fucking HATE Mozilla Firefox, its SOOOOO slow.... and it slows down my computer when i use it, and it has no software whatsoever..

Re: ....
This is usually a swapping issue. This occurs when there's too many programs resident in main memory, and thus the operating system must swap out processes to secondary memory (i.e. disk) in order to load the program into main memory.Ixidor, reality sculptor wrote:no, i meant it makes my harddrive go berserk. i click on firefox and my busy light blinks like crazyAbsoluteDestiny wrote:You mean slow to load?Ixidor, reality sculptor wrote:I Fucking HATE Mozilla Firefox, its SOOOOO slow.... and it slows down my computer when i use it, and it has no software whatsoever..

The two best ways to fix this are (1) buy more RAM or (2) load fewer programs. Of course it'd be nice if there was a way to not preload IE at startup -- that'd free up some memory -- but I don't know of one.
Like what programs? Comet Cursor?, and i cant install certain programs, so i stick with the virus infested IE.
