once went to hover dam, can't say it interested me much (i was only 8) but hey 'whatever floats yer boat, big guy'

For some reason, this thread reminds me of this one episode of "Red Dwarf", where, among other things, Rimmer goes off on a "holiday tour" of the ship and takes photo slides of such spectacular scenery as main coolant pipes, engine room machinery, and other things of that nature.

It is unfortunate, however, that the "lakes they create" destroy local biota and habitat and drastically change the temperature and sediment regimes in the downstream region of the outflow.
