bashar has a point, maybe there's a way to keep the forum open and the main site shut down tomorrow, since that's where random visitors would go, and then even some members who try to use it will get informed or whatever.

While I am 100% anti-SOPA (saying that like it's the big ballsy thing to do now... "I don't care WHO I offend, this SOPA thing is bullshit!"), I can't imagine that doing a full blackout of the Org is going to reach the intended audience. However, any support and spread of knowledge can only be a good thing when it comes to such an over-arching and radical piece of legislation. So I would certainly not be opposed to some sort of large banner at the top with link to get information, JUST IN CASE there's still a handful of people who may have heard about the bill but don't really get the implications.

I find this quite humorous as well, but if I'm going to take it literally and seriously: SOPA isn't going to just 'put an end' to memes and all the other crap. The fact that anyone could support SOPA and PIPA literally makes me sick to my stomach.

Not quite true for me. I've been following politics since I was 14 years old. However, it's sadly true in most cases, especially since some teenagers can't even define what capitalism and communism are (at least from my experiences). Another thing that annoys me is when teenagers wear Che Guevara shirts without knowing anything about the guy.

I agree. I don't think the graph is quite an accurate representation of the current situation. In my community, we follow the news and politics. If you think this graph is true, then you live in an area in the United States that is just... well, the American Stereotype.
If you don't know the definition and difference of communism and capitalism, then you haven't been past the 10th grade, maximum, yet. Teenagers do learn what it is in school, if they're able to attend one. And considering the majority of teens do go to school in the United States, this graph does not apply to anyone above the 10th grade in the HS system. To be fair, there are a lot of just, to put it simply, stupid people/teens out there in America that learn what it is, but forget because they don't care, but I still disagree with the graph.

Also, to be fair again, people who are teenagers in 2012, that means they grew up with the internet. Frankly, I don't blame them, and them especially therefore, for being concerned over the internet being threatened. The internet is filled with a lot of valuable information. Teenagers are more concerned with the entertainment it provides, probably, but any opposition to SOPA for any personal reason is good enough for me.

I find the graph funny more than sad. I'm not too concerned with what people my age care about, because we teenagers really affect nothing in the world, frankly. When we all go to college though, if this graph is still true, then I'll be sad.

So, if the ESA does eventually change their position on SOPA/PIPA, would that still make you reconsider going to E3 (if you were able to go)? Also, would this be the same answer for events hosted by other companies supporting SOPA/PIPA (like the MPAA)?
