And, honestly, you'd have to be a regular/veteran. If I haven't know you, even online, for a number of years, no offense, but I am none to interested letting you stay.

Zarx, of course, is welcome.

And $2500 can last you about a month, if you're careful, but not miserly. If you're miserly, you can make it last even longer. If you get a few Seishu Juhachi Kippu tickets and come with JR Passes already purchased, you can drop that even further. If you're REALLY serious about this, dokool and I can probably help you make the most of your money.
See, all the more reason for me to not go. I'm the creepy weird guy in the corner. No one likes traveling with the creepy weird guy in the corner.

Don't forget to say hello to her. ;)

This sounds like an awesome idea that I'd be up for after I get full time and rack up the proper vacation time :D

Hmm, seems like a lot of people are interested though, but have the "not right now" syndrome.

Maybe we could plan a big group trip for next year?

Group vacations are so hard to plan out... I had a bitch of a time dealing with just 4 people over there in 06.

What are you looking to see / do / go? It's best to get an idea of what you really want. Pick up a travel guide if you need to.

Another cheap hotel in Kyoto - I forget who gave that to me a few months back...

I'm currently in the midst of packing boxes, but if you want any links I still have a bunch of stuff for cheap flights, onsens, etc. - just hit me up on AIm or something if you want any of them.

Realize airfare is probably going to set you back $900 or so if you're lucky.

For me Money is not the issue (and NO, I not going to pay for you all)...

My Vacation time keeps getting drained by running all those silly AMV rooms to show off eveyone's videos... But Japan is on my list near the top within the next few years..

More links if you're interested:

Need to figure out how you're getting from point A to point B? Transportation Schedule Planner - in English. You can specify when you want to leave, which methods you want to use (plane, bullet train, regular train, subway), and look at multiple options listed by total time, price, etc.

Airfare (and sometimes hotel) deals with JTB USA and IACE (you also go through JTB to get tickets to the Ghibli Museum if that interests you - it's a pretty cool place... has a catbus and doesn't afraid of anything

Probably a good idea to check exchange rates too.

If you don't hit up any of these you fail at life (the one in Shibuya, however, has so much hentai it's not funny). Dokool lives (relatively) near the nakano one - it's an entire fucking mall worth of stores.

Here's an onsen review site if such things interest you. I personally went here and absolutely loved it. Also happens to be one of the only mixed bathing hotsprings left in Japan. The area's pretty scenic and good for hikes too. Here's their own website if you can read moonspeak.
