No edit button in here?

Also, should be noted that the virus I was referencing uses trojans disguised as video codecs. Fun. =D

He's a sucky IT guy if he can't get rid of a trojan. =\

And anyway, some trojans have a tendency to jump from file to file to avoid being deleted by anit-virus software. I had to remove one from a school computer that did that one time. (And I was a sophomore in high school at the time...what's that tell you about this IT guy? >_> ) McAfee cracked me up as it tried to follow the thing around from file to file.
... yea ...

Trust me - as you may be able to tell, I don't give folks who throw around "I'm IT!!" statements much respect until they can back it up. I have yet to meet an IT guy that I didn't beat to the punch in terms of resolving certain issues. Unfortunately, the whole "IT" title usually impresses people who know nothing about computers, which ironically can cause them a lot of headaches, i.e. my sister.

I would dearly love to ask her what kind of X-rated material her b/f has been soliciting, though. Thanks for suggesting I bring up the matter. It should be quite fun to broach the subject during Thanksgiving dinner. |:>

That virus was a bitch to remove -but a bitch nonetheless.

*flaunts his competence.*

Just for the record, I've never gotten a virus from the .org(y).
Everything came from nothing, therefore everything is nothing.

There's nothing to worry about.

I know, I know - this place is about as safe as it gets, these days. Trying to convince someone of that who only sees a virus attached to an AMV file that took out their computer is difficult, though, especially when their "IT" b/f is standing over their shoulder, telling them "I told you so!" I can't even link to this thread as proof I'm not full of it b/c she's sworn up and down she'll never come here again.

People who don't know a lot about computers either tend to scare way too easily or not scare enough. I have a feeling this situation is a classic example of both.
