Talking about good, man is that thing small! Problem... I'm going to feel it might brake in my hands. lol

Hmmm... 30 to 40 dollars more expensive than regular GBA... not so good.
Launch March 23! Excellent!
Yes, that is kinda odd. Every game boy up until now has launched at 100. And it's not even a new model, just a revised one. Man, I bought the original with tetris, four batteries, and a link cable for 100.

I really like that it closes though. i'm always worried about scratching the xcreen at school, so I boght a 5 dollor refurbished silver pocket... Now with games like metroid coming out, you miss out by playing old school games. I bought a light sheild, but the thing's so damn anoying. This thing you can just fold up and put it in the side of your bag like a wallet. Very cool.

I more surpised by the fact all of you are surpised by this. I knew about them planing on realsing a backlite gameboy adv months ago. (did not know what it would look like though). I have to say this one looks cool but I hate how the buttons are set up. the old games boys felt kind of small for my hands. I have a gameboy Adv no back lite. I love how it set up. If fits in man hands pretty well. Also the backlite will kill the bats. That way the first game boy adv never had one. If any of you own a laptop you will understand how fast the lighting drains the bat. Also the monters on our computers (LCD or crt) take a lot more power than it take the run the computer it self. Me personal I going to live with out this upgrade game boy since it will not have any new games for it and it just a gameboy adv. Also I do not feel like going though a few packs of batteris to play for a few hours

I meant in Canadian dollars, and compared to the current price of GBA. But it is debuting at $99 in the US.

GBA: SP vs. GBA FIGHT!

I think that I would like the traditional GBA with an afterburner in it (but not yellow!). I see that hinged screen wearing out after a few years, and losing all tension. Imagine trying to play it with the screen moving around. its not worth the extra money in my opinion

$49 GBA (if you can get a good deal)
$35 Afterbuner kit
$12 precut colormatching case, with preinstalled dimer
___
$96+shipping

-or-

$129 for a GBA sp

I think it is worth it to do the work yourself, you can even save 12 bucks and case cut the case yourself and install the dimmer.

I think the new design makes it look more like a toy (except the platinum one) remember those tv ads with that handheld game that you could play 9999 amazing games, like tetris, racecar, and football. then showed someone throwing playstation, a nintendo 64, and a gameboy in the trash, exclaming "never buy one of those overpriced videogame systems again!".....

I fail to see the good coming from this thing. Sure, there's backlighting, but even if the battery-life's the same it's not much. The other changes I believe come as disadvantages. The GBA handled as most controllers do, this seems to very much return to the far more basic controls, it's being squarish reminding me very much of the NES and MS controllers. The L/R buttons seem out of the way and awkward. I'll stick with my GBA and a backlight thanks, I don't use it enough to justify buying an updated one.

And the battery life of laptops is short because of all that other crap it does, I believe the contribution of the backlightedness is reasonably small.

I hope that's not for the Gamegear thing. :x

Although it's probably for the laptop thing, but I was under that impression, so if you could show me some specifications on power allocation I'd be most grateful.
