ah not to be excessivly rude, but its just that you came in and made a post without seeming to read any of the forum information first. if you had bothered you would have seen more of what some of the older members look for in posts (and im by no means one of the older members, im just not super new). things like references to noobtube you would have easily picked up on if you had checked around a bit and 'lurked' (as the term is used more here) is frowned upon
as to you saying that your computer is bad. that doesnt actually make a difference with downloading a amv then watching it or streaming, the download speed is based off of the server you are downloading from, and a-m-v.org is a fairly good server. the 'benefit' as you say to noobtube is streaming, so you can watch it while you are downloading. of course this means you cant keep a copy on your computer to rewatch as many people here do with amv's.
just my 2 cents

I'll by an AMV from you.... :OPas1990 wrote:I didn't want your 2 cents. I need 5 dollars damnitprYzm wrote:just my 2 cents
Okay your idea isn't bad at all....David Julio Wang wrote:To recap, I was just offering a suggestion for something I have never seen before.
A music video tribute to friends and family set to music from Anime.
But if you mean just taking animemusic and put it together with liveaction of friends, family, whatever and no Anime in the Video ----> I wouldn't consider that AMV anymore... and yeah you could never upload it here, meaning your suggestion is not really on the right site here....

You already got your comments you deserved. Just my two cents on You Tube:
-An editor spents hours on sync. YT screws it with converting
-An editor spents hours on visual quality. YT screws it on ass quality
This is what moves me really to tears!
-Not everybody has a camera or likes live action to use. It´s still a-m-v.org here
-So the chance that some good or worthy editors work on it goes to zero
-The chance of good videos goes to zero
-In the end visual quality get screwed up because of the Tube.
Anyway it gets screwed because no good editor will work on it.
The disaster is perfect. A bunch of not good musicvideos with no obvious connection to each other on randomn online streaming sites.
That´s what I think about it. Maybe next time you have a better idea

It fails, because I see it realistic:The options are endless.
Everyone who loves Anime would be completely moved by the use of the songs coupled with real life footage.

...The tradeoff is that boochsack AMVs pretty much all suck. You view them on a tiny ass 320x240 screen and most are just about naruto fighting to Linkin Park, or horribly edited scenes (to be honest, most are left unedited)
I just watched the video on Youtube.
boom?...
Come on guys.
This way the video gets far more exposure than just leaving it here for this 1 community to see.
The fellow who posted Jihaku was very polite and gave all credit to Tyler for creating it even including the comment Tyler has posted here regarding his creation.
It was very moving.
Actually I saw it at Anime Evolution, an Anime convention here in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
Tyler must have pored over Anime clips for 100's of hours to make the video.
That's certainly a labor of love...
I downloaded the clip, but it wouldn't play in my copy of Winamp.Uhh... your computer power has nothing to do with downloading AMVs. At all.
I'm not very familiar with the settings for the program, so I just went to what I was familiar with, Youtube, and, the video was there.
I'll say it again, for an artist like Tyler, who created the amazing video as a labor of love to share with others, there is really no better place in the world currently than Youtube.
There his video will be seen by Anime fans from all over.
The community here is huge, but I doubt it includes the fans all over the world.
Youtube, everyone knows.
Personally, I find the creation of Youtube very noble.
It provides a place where everyone in the world can share themselves freely, in whatever video manner they can.
To me, that is another step towards humanity's emancipation.
That's cool.I doubt anyone here would say that.
Artists usually aren't hung up on money.
I'm hoping that humanity will follow suit sooner than later.
I'm actually more like a firefly.Yeah, the best method is to lurk. Alot. Like, just give up any social life you have and make sure you refresh the page often so you can read EVERY new post made.
I tend to zip in and out.
I wanted to share my idea with people whom I believed would enjoy it, and, then zip off to where my fancy carried me next.
I'm not a hardcore AMV watcher.
I find them powerful experiences to digest, and I usually only watch a few a month.
Anymore and I feel myself emotionally drained.

Every ship has its style.things like references to noobtube you would have easily picked up on if you had checked around a bit and 'lurked' (as the term is used more here) is frowned upon
I can see You tube is completely disliked here.
I find it strange the sentiment is so strong.
Other than the video quality not being terribly high (doesn't really bother me terribly much), I don't see anything wrong with the service.
In fact I see a lot very right with it.
Again, it's a stage for everyone in the world to share themselves with others.
That's what we human beings do.
All the time. Everyday. Share ourselves with others. The more tools we have to do so, all the better, I think.
Yes. I noticed the download speed was very quick.a-m-v.org is a fairly good server. the 'benefit' as you say to noobtube is streaming, so you can watch it while you are downloading. of course this means you cant keep a copy on your computer to rewatch as many people here do with amv's.
I would donate, but I am tapped out at the moment.
If I find myself downloading AMV's with any regularity, I will be sure to donate.
btw.
Anybody know why a video might not play in Winamp?
Any particular setting that needs to be tweaked?
----
Thank you for the compliment!Okay your idea isn't bad at all....
But if you mean just taking animemusic and put it together with liveaction of friends, family, whatever and no Anime in the Video ----> I wouldn't consider that AMV anymore... and yeah you could never upload it here, meaning your suggestion is not really on the right site here....

I guess it wouldn't be an AMV anymore, hence AMTV.
A Video Tribute, set to Anime Music.
I suppose it wouldn't really belong here per se...
That said, if it is, as you kindly agree, a good idea, and it gains popularity, why couldn't this site be expanded to host AMTV's too.
Certainly they have the potential to be moving and powerful like AMV's, perhaps, at times more so, because they would have real people, with real life moments in them.
The juxtaposition of real life, set against the moving themes of Anime music, that we all know and love.
...i get excited chills and goosebumps just thinking about it.
As a matter of fact, Jihaku is EXACTLY what an AMTV could be.
Real life images coupled with Anime.
An AMTV doesn't have to be a strict box.
It doesn't have to be "only" real life footage, it could have lots of Anime footage intertwined with the real stuff to form a veritable montage of moments that blur reality and anime.
...wooh...this idea is really chilling to me...
man.
i can't wait till i have some time and money to invest into making my own AMTV.
It'll probably be a couple of years.
I have a lot of things I need to do first.
That's why I'm putting the idea here.
I might not have the time and the resources to make an AMTV myself, but, there are lots of people on this forum who can.
I'm not saying anybody has to, or even has to consider it.
I'm just saying that if anybody did, I would be the first person racing to the youtube site ,or downloading page, or Anime Convention to watch it.
David.

Look, I'll be blunt. I don't care how many noobs on noobtube give you shit like "perfect, 5/5"David Julio Wang wrote:...The tradeoff is that boochsack AMVs pretty much all suck. I just watched the video on boochsack.
boom?...
Come on guys.
This way the video gets far more exposure than just leaving it here for this 1 community to see.
My ego is big enough as it is, and I would rather have the validated opinions of members here, than a 2 second comment from some idiot on noobtube.
Look man, to put it simple, quality over quantity. I actually remember the AMVs I downloaded here, whereas for one on noobtube I will forget after a day.
Yeah, see now he's probably crying himself to bed because of that. I would personally take that as an insult, as noobtube is notorious for crappy, shitty, worthless AMVs.David Julio Wang wrote: I'll say it again, for an artist like Tyler, who created the amazing video as a labor of love to share with others, there is really no better place in the world currently than boochsack.

boochsack, everyone knows.
Truly beautiful, brought tears to my eyes. I guess all us a-m-v.org members are just losers who cannot contribute to society. Seriously, we don't need to hear someone preaching to us how great and noble noobtube is.David Julio Wang wrote: Personally, I find the creation of boochsack very noble.

...ouch dude...You already got your comments you deserved.
You certainly do wield a sword inside your pen don't you?
Yes, I do notice the discrepancy in timing when put on You tube.ust my two cents on You Tube:
-An editor spents hours on sync. YT screws it with converting
-An editor spents hours on visual quality. YT screws it on ass quality
Forgive me for saying so my friend, but from perusing this statement, the impression I get is that you are reluctant to consider trying something new.It fails, because I see it realistic:
-Not everybody has a camera or likes live action to use. It´s still a-m-v.org here
-So the chance that some good or worthy editors work on it goes to zero
-The chance of good videos goes to zero

Look.
I understand that a lot of us here aren't really all high and into the real life thing.
That's why Anime is such a wonderful escape.
Even so, we all have families and friends, even dogs and cats.
Special places we really are attached to, even if it is the inside of one's gaming closet, or one's Manga collection, figure collection, poster collection, tatoos, the computer itself!
Even if Anime is what we all share a powerful affinity for, real life still surrounds us, and there is still stuff in real life we care about.
Creating anything is a journey towards reaching some kind of new understanding about existence.
I don't make AMV's, but, I'm sure that AMV artists find that the experience of creating an AMV makes them grow.
Finding clips. Choosing music. Establishing timing. Adding visual effects.
Tailoring. Measuring. Positioning.
It's art, and throwing oneself into any art, invariably makes one grow.
I believe that creating an AMTV would be just as powerful an experience, and, what better way to pay a tribute to something from real life you care about?
A person who loves Anime, coupling it with an aspect of their real life.
What does that say?
That says, that this real something, someone, is very important.
...jeepers dude...The disaster is perfect. A bunch of not good musicvideos with no obvious connection to each other on randomn online streaming sites.
You seem to forget the unlimited resourcefulness of people when they put their heart and soul into something.
Not everyone has a camera.
If somebody loves this idea, and has a burning passion to make an AMTV, for a friend, a family member, a special place, they will go out and buy one.
The video might not be perfect on You tube, but, there's no reason it's the only place to share.
There's right here, or, if not here, lots of places.
It's all about people and feelings.
If somebody feels passionately enough about something, they will make it happen.
"So why don't you do it?"
Again, at the moment, I cannot.
I have a lot to do, but, I can have an idea and share it, and talk about it, and look forward to one day watching somebody's else's and someday making my own.
Thank you for the wink. That´s what I think about it. Maybe next time you have a better idea Wink
Personally I think it's a really good idea.
Another way for people to express themselves.
You know, the AMV was something I was introduced to only a little under 2 years ago.
When I first saw one, I was blown away.
I had never thought about doing anything like it.
I was astounded at what an amazing idea someone had had.
Every time I watch an AMV, I still get the same feeling of awe and wonder, far more than when I watch a simple, everyday music video on MTV.
It's the Anime that makes AMV's so powerful for me.
It's the connection to the stories I love that grabs me.
The AMTV would be taking that feeling and bringing parts of real life into it.
To conclude, maybe, that's the next logical step in the expression of love for the Anime genre
