But I feel very embaressed for you right now matt.. I'm not mad at you or anything man, I'm just a little embaressed.

you need 600 gigs at least for editing amvs!
you need atleast a 1.5 ghz comp for all your WMM editing
you need 256+ megs of good ram or you'll suck
you need a 256 meg grafics card to waste on gunbound, or else you wont be cool... and it has to be red...
you need an over priced sound card so that you can plug in $13 headphones from walmart into it..
you need the best mouse on the face of the earth... or else people will call you names, and tease you about having a small... mouse..
your keyboard MUST be atleast $75 and wireless, because wireless keyboards NEVER fail!!
you also need a blue disc DVD burner, or all will laugh at your lack of blue laser disc anime collection!
thats about all that you need... anything else, would be uncivilized!

And besides everyone knows in 2 years it'll all be replaced by >> mini flash ram sticks you put in your pc for an extra boost during editing.

Need 50gb's of ram really quick? No problem, put the flash ram in, and BAM editings a snap.

Then after that computers will take over the world.

you can always get another job, depending on where you live the job market shouldn't be too bad. I just moved here and I got 6 call backs and got hired on the spot at Suncoast after only being here a week

yeah now it just look more like foolin around then helping the poor guy, but sry man, if i wasn't poor i'd make myself poor by buying anime lol. but now you listed the parts you have, if i'm not mistaken all your missing is a cpu, which i'm guess is the $500, i know P4s are expesive but not that much, and for video editing, you'd want to go for a P4 insted of an amd i herd, cuzz even though p4s are slower in some repects the pipline is big and the only ht (hyper threading) can really do its majic is when your rendering stuff all the other times doesn't help ya much. i say don't get $500 get like a $300 cpu and donate $200 to the .org

though if viruses was your prob on your last pc i would suggest "fsck it!"

in other words format the drive, save all the stuff you want on your 120gb then format the 40 reinstall xp on that and when ever you isntall games put them in the 120 insted of the 40 as for primer (or software that is gona do alot of read and writing) install that on the 40 so that the software doesn't slow down your rendering times. anyway i format my windows machine every 2 months about and it usally in less probs then you, there isn't a virus and almost no spy where on it, just things in windows get messed up that i wouldn't know how to fix unless i programed the dang thing, so i am nextworked with anthor comp with a 120 drive, i just copy all of my stuff over there and then format and copy it all back, the only thing thats lost is personal setting witch i have fun playing with anyway

so thats just my 2 ideas of how you can handel the situation.
