I'm sorry, but I don't think Linkin Park have a song called "December". They DO have a song called "My December", however. But how about THESE songs, have you heard of:Nikko6910 wrote:to SS5_Majin_Bebi:
Wow, great spelling and grammar. there really isn't to much else to say to you.

Carousel
Part Of Me
And One
Step Up
Hole
The Down Syndrome
Wake Me
She Shines
They're all Linkin Park songs. If you want to make a Linkin Park video, then pick one of those songs. (The bottom 4 are actually unreleased B-Sides, and in "She Shines", Chester sounds a little bit like Scott Stapp, formerly of "Creed". He gets better though, lol )
Oh, and I do sincerely hope you weren't being sarcastic about the spelling and grammar.

The range in which all of you look for music lies too much in the modern age of music. Keep in mind the 70's and 80's held some pretty good rock.

Sorry for double posting but I forgot to add this.
Even though you might think Linkin Park is good for making AMV's, keep in mind too many Linkin Park AMV's might drive people away from your music vids.
I mean admit it, sometimes when you're going through the AMV list and you see another Linkin Park AMV that uses a song you saw in 20 other AMV's you think to yourself "oh god, not another one."
If you don't feel this way then great. But this is just a little tip from an AMV enjoyer.

Pros and Cons of Linkin Park:
First I will say this I like Linkin Park. I think they have a ways to go as fairly new band, but they are good with a unique sound.
They play soft to heavy, but the songs are almost all relationship songs. For action based anime like DBZ it really doesn't fit as well as people think it does.
SS5_Majin_Bebi was pretty damn harsh but I did I agree with the above song use problem.
That and the fact that I have downloaded numerous LP AMVs and only about four or five of them were worth the wait. Of course most of the time if somethings under 20MB its a clue.
When Linkin Park branches out and does some heart felt songs that are not about cliche pop relationships a really great band will develope from a good band.
What I think about the use of Linkin Park:
I am not adverse to vids done to commonly used song as long as the song fits and the AMV kicks ass.
(You tend to need a rep or an awesome site to get people to download them.)
You have to go through a bunch of AMVs to find those rare OMG awesome ones anyway.
So far the best use of Linkin Park I have seen is probably Kenshin.
Anyway to back to the subject since that is my resean why Linkin Park is not always the best choice.
I'll try to answer this objectively.
Best to Use:
The best song is always the one that fits the anime the best, but I will go further.
I will take 'best' to mean the most versital in uses with a great number of different anime.
Tough call since anime ranges from romantic to SciFi etc.
Possibilities:
At first I wanted to say AC/DC as they have kick ass songs for action and songs of innuendo for the numerous love anime. However that only focuses on two groups even if they are big groups.
Offspring, Metallica, Papa Roach, Aerosmith, and Smash Mouth are veristal, but they all alienate a group or two. Those groups respectively are something like darker anime, romantic anime, action/fight anime, and action/SciFi anime.
Toss Up:
I finally I came to a toss up between Bon Jovi and Guns N' Roses.
Bon Jovi was always had a neutral 80s Metal position. It had fast songs, sad songs, and of course its numerous power ballads. The older stuff (which I prefer) is a much more metal. The newer is much more romantically based and soft.
Bon Jovi still seems to leave out the really action based anime though.
Guns N' Roses seems to cover the genre board pretty well. It has its classic songs like Welcome to the Jungle and Paradise City. Slow songs and romantic anime are covered by November Rain, Don't Cry, and Sweet Child of Mine. The harder areas are included by songs like Back Off Bitch and Garden of Eden.
Guns N' Roses leaves out some of comedy based anime, but damn this was hard question due to its general nature.
So yeah I think Guns N' Roses is one of the most inclusive bands to use.
Somebody may come up with something more versatile, but so far it seems to be a Linkin Park or not Linkin Park thing going on.

"You could be mine" is a great song.(It was the song that John Connor and his friend were listening to on their dirtbike in Terminator 2)
"Wild Side" could be a good comedy song for something like Goldenboy. I heard that song in my head instantly when I saw my first episode(#4) of goldenboy last week.

Best band?
Well it's already been said, but the best is the one you like and done right.
That's my conditions for a video to be deserved "keepable".
It must be a song I like (duh) and decently edited.
I hate when people just take a couple scenes (or even worse, just one scene) and put music to them and call it a video. (guilty as charged
But hey, how many people have actually used New Order's "Elegia"?)
I still want to see a good video using "Stitches" by Orgy (and downloadable!). Also, "Faces" by Orgy was abused (it was coupled together with some craptacular footage of Naruto. My heart weeps)
Also, people, please use the song in the context it was meant for!
i.e. If it's a serious song, don't couple it with a funny anime (unless you're going for a funny effect). Case in point, this video uses Rammstein's "Stripped' which to me seems like a serious song, yet it's coupled to Iketeru Futari, a comedy anime. I think the creator just heard the first line and nothing else. The video stays decent through good editing.
So someone, please make a good Rammstein "Stripped" AMV that is both serious and in context to the lyrics of the song!
I might come back to rant later. Maybe.

The Ramones
The Ramones would definitely have a song to fit just about any anime.
