I like the fact that you are seeking out help for your story ideas. A forum is not a good place to look for storyline ideas though. Advice, yes. MAS and Heartbreaker have already given you some good advice. Since this is being made by you and your friends, it would be best to keep the storyline and points between you and your friends (just to keep things organized and to avoid mix-ups/misunderstandings). At this moment things don't seem very organized. For the forum members that do give you ideas though (if any) be sure to give them credit and include them in your little production (for reasons that I've already stated).

Do you even have the basic technology do this? :? Just out of curiosity.

I have a pencil, paper, and a lot of drawing pratice. The story gose a lot deeper than a 5 and under story i'm just risking a beating form my friend just by giving yal this much. You see shes under the impression that all you have to do is go to someone and say make this an anime and they will.

She loves pretending that our story is real and me and her fight But if i start to tell someone about our anime she throws a fit! (Shes older than me!) And Tries to beat me up (fat chance) I just want to get some pointers. We split the story in two I do all the action like battels and arguements. She gets the romance(Nuff said).

I Can try to post some of our work like seince we're making it in book form first. Mabe i can post one of the books? (not here but on my website)
if it kicks ass i like it.
if it gets someone else to kick ass for it i love it.:)

well, if ya want, just find a decent free web host and post your stuff thier.

and i agree with your freind, you should be able to jot down a vague 1 paragraph consept of an anime you want made, email it to gainax or someone where they would have artists, directors, sounds guys and stufff chained and a big guy infront of them whiping anyone that stops working or asking stupid questions about the legality of it all and the fact that thier starving cause work breaks or that 25hour work days are a bit too much. ah, i love japan

The characters are rather boring, and the whole ideas behind them just seems so.... blech. I mean, come on, three gaurdians, one of them dies of old age, she marries one, blech blech blech. I Hate it! God...

Not much in the way of originallity... and you know that stars and suns are the EXACT SAME THING, right? I realize that they're probably not intended to follow their names, but still, a star is a sun, and a sun is a star.

The story seems boring as hell, also extremely childish.

Give Up. Sorry, but I really do think you should give up. You'll never actually be able to make the anime. MAYBE a manga, but that won't do well, either.

I'm sorry if this seemed overly 'mean' as you will probably put it, but it's my view. The story is lame, the characters are lame, aim this at girls 5 years and younger because no one else is buying into this bullshit (cept for those fourty year olds in Sailor Moon drag....*vomits at the thought*)

Yeah stars and suns are the same thing in reality but in an anime i gues not Besides my friensd the one that came up with the races... 8)

i think the best thing u could do is send your thing to one of those contest things cartoon network or nicolodean have, do they still have them. where kids send in ideas and then the network pics some and airs like a bref shot of it and then ppl vote and the best one gets made into a show.

Here We Go

Alright I used to read a lot of novels and have read a few books on story creation with art.

I'm gonna tell the J.R.R. Tolkien method.

Don't right a story! Live in a completely separate reality.

Live it, think it, dive into the minds and souls of characters, relate everything in your life to it from the mundane to the extrodinary, and finally right it down.

Okay after you do that do this.

1. Decide what you want to convey with the story.

Will it be about eternal love, pride, joy, sorrow, loss, philosophy, life, death, life after death, friendship, conformity, freedom, hate, malice, or vengence.

2. The Cast

Pick an emotion to dominate each character. But don't leave them one sided give them depth. Place in rivals or counterparts that have the exact opposite emotion. Vary the energy level of characters; are they hyper, reserved, shy, or outgoing?

How will they look and why? Will their looks be opposite or consistent with their personality? How will that effect them?

3. Environment (physical and emotional)

One of the biggest debates in psychology and philosophy is nature vs. nurture. Look it up, its about inborn traits vs. experience. Kind of a chicken and the egg thing.

Anyway the point is you have to create a past, present, and future. Why are the characters the way they are? Why will they change and develope?

4. Research (This should take place the whole time)

Find out what you need to know to create a reality, not a story.

If a character is to have a sword, what type will it be? Why that sword for that character? You will also need to know how the sword is made and what its parts are called.

5. Story Board

Draw quick sketches of the main events. Then sub events. Begin to link them together. Add more or take out some where needed.

Main events will move along the main plot. Sub events will too but begin smaller plots.

This plays a big role in complexity as the story will have layers. With character depth established with the cast and environment now you need hindsight.

Once you know where the story is headed and maybe how it will end you can sneak in clues into earlier parts.

When the viewer sees the end all the clues will come rushing back into they're mind.

Always let them see far enough ahead they continue to watch, but never enough that know what will happen next.

6. Tips

If you have a plan and well defined characters it should take on a life of its own.

You won't have to say what should happen next. You know what needs to happen to advance the story to the end . So you then you must ask 'how the living characters react?' 'What will that cause to happen next?'

Don't just write it, feel it, then organize it with the more rational part of the mind.

You're not making an anime. You are creating a world. You must believe in the characters and invision the reality.

Big Thing: Keep the feel consistant or have very gradual shifts.

Don't start out as a romance anime and change into something else by episode two. Make the shift smoothly with hidden clues.

Question

You and those involved do know about artistic dynamics right?

Want it Aired

Well a bang at the start beats a monologue unless the monologue is in the prologue and inspires deep thought. Suck the people in. Jump to a later point of action and then recount the start if needed. Yu Yu Hakushou does this to a degree in episode one.

If you make it they will watch.

Put the first episode on the internet and send it out to as many big web sites as you can think of.

If you made it well it will draw its own attention.

Don't feel bad that people have said the story sounds bad in this topic. Plenty of awesome things have started out as very lame and sketchy with an okay idea. The story will grow.

Here are some well made movies you may want to watch and anlysize:

Pirates of the Caribbean (Layers of small detail and sheer cleverness)

Fight Club (Small clues that flood back into the mind)

Edward Scissor hands (greats tale with a consistent emotional cast)

Face Off (John Woo rocks, observe his technique well)

Momento (Hindsight is this movie. Brilliant.)

If you want to know what not to do watch MST3K.

Mystery Science Theater 3000 is about making fun of movies. It points out a lot of flaws in movies. Plus its funny as hell.

Please elaborate :] Go into more detail if you can, and if you have any artwork that goes with it post links to that as well. Then I'll give my opinion. After reading your first post which was a paragraph to sum up an entire season I can't honestly say I know what the hecks going on.

Good luck on your ideas though, even if it seems impossible to get it made into an anime it could still do really well as a weekly internet manga... do you have an artist(s)?

The story seems pretty good. You could try and add the characters personality.

The chances of it getting aired are EXTREMELY low, but you could try manga.
And the killer is.........Me - Osaka
Why do you get to be the killer?! - Yomi
