Caita Cat, I was like that at my first con. My first was JACON 2003. I was embarrassed around the cosplayers and nervous around the otaku. However, once I got used to it, it turned out to be one of the best things I've ever been to.

Anime cons are one of the few things that can get you around other people with the same interests as you: anime. There are TONS of activities, events, guest stars, and things to buy. :)

I wouldn't mind helping you out. I will probably be cosplaying as Naota from FLCL, so look for me...and no, I'm not 30 years old or anything. I'm probably younger than you are. (If not, then I'm DEFINITELY shorter than you! :D )

Ah, thank you for helping Lone Wolf. Well, I will be the Puerto Rican Shuichi [Gravitation] who is with Eres [FF7]. I am still somewhat scared but :wink: I know I will get over it. Now about the Final Fantasy Ball... :| Would a Homecoming/Prom dress be okay? Or is that just flat out too fancy? I am gonna die :cry: And by the way I am only 5 ft 5in tall.....You should be taller then that... :?

Hey Caita...it is me Lisa. With all the forums you're going to to and with you posting about us... we'll have the whole con looking for us. :roll:
But that's ok I love you anyway. Everyone seems to be really nice so I probably won't have a panic attack if someone talks to us. I'm a shy person :oops:

Caita I am going to smack you on the head.... it's spelled Aeris!!! Not your fault..I know you haven't played the game so I will just pat you on the head and move on.

I hope it's not only prom dresses....I don't have ANY dresses. Come to think of it I'm not sure if I'll be able to pull off a costume because I have no talent so I will mope and sulk at everyone else's pretty costumes :(

I've seen this one and many other videos on that website. They're good stuff. They're just a whole bunch of pictures of people having fun and people dressed up at different conventions.

:oops: Sorry Lisa-chan! Gome Nasi! :cry: I tried watching the Final Fantasy Ball video but that would mean I would have to download Quick Time and when I tried to it was not quick! It said it had to take 43 minutes! :? Quick Time my foot! Anyways, I have seen the pics at RisingSun.net for the Final Fantasy Ball and I am still confused! On the main page for Final Fantasy Ball the rules are either dress as a character from Final Fantasy or wear something formal. But in some of the pictures I see characters that are not Final Fantasy and people who are not formal. :cry: I AM CONFUSED!

No, you don't need to be cosplaying to attend. Metrocon's page says that you only need to be in formal attire.
