Mech
Part Two:
Mech
The absolute best mech videoI have ever seen. Completely wonderful video.
Title: Heaven's Door
By: Aluminum Studios
Song: Knockin' On Heaven's Door
Artist: Guns N' Roses
Anime: Evangelion
This video is absolutely beautiful. The video source is off in size but still high quality in picture. The song fit wonderfully. If you don't know the history of the song here it is; Guns N’ Roses got the call that their friend died just before a performance. (There is a lot more to the story.) They dedicated the song to him and sang it through tears. The scene use is great and the sound quality is excellent. The video is a work of art and does justice to such a beautiful song.
<a href="http://www.aluminumstudios.com/" target= "_blank">Aluminum Studios</a>
His site my still be down so check a-m-v.org or ptp software.
Another good one to mech.
Title: EVA Suicide
By: Kentaro
Song: Chop Suey
Artist: System of a Down
Anime: Evangelion
Uses the imagery of the scenes very well. It also keeps pace to a very fast song. Interesting use of fades as well. It has a few cool moments of lip-syncing combined with scene changes too. The video quality is a little low, but not too bad. (I would guess around 650 kbps, but it may differ from codec to codec so it’s a ‘very’ rough guess.) All in all the video is very nice.
<a href= "http://dragonballarena.gamesurf.it/engl ... s5_nge.php" target = "_blank">Dragonball Arena</a>
This one is cool and matches pace with the song.
Title: Another Sunday Afternoon...
By: Danny Tanda
Song: Panic
Artist: Beatsteaks
Anime: Evangelion
Some of the scene use isn’t quite as good as the above video. The video quality has similar problems in size to Heaven’s Door. (A lower in picture quality than Heaven’s Door, but a little higher than EVA Suicide.) The lip-syncing is not as unique as EVA Suicide, but it is quite accurate and well placed. I thought some of the fades were weird, but given the number of scene changes, overlaps, and cut scenes it is impressive that so many were done great. Nice video.
<a href= "http://dragonballarena.gamesurf.it/engl ... s5_nge.php" target = "_blank">Dragonball Arena</a>
Here is a few more good mech videos. These I don’t think are quite as good, but I liked them myself. I think I might be a little bias as a Metallica fan. But these two are still good in their own right.
Title: Enter Sandman
By: 17th_Angel
Song: Enter Sandman
Artist: Metallica
Anime: Evangelion
Good audio and video quality, but has some size issues. Misses some beats, but over all its done well. Builds suspense well. Nice use of cut scenes at parts. I think it could have been faster, but its not bad. Some decent scene use. There was definitely a good idea behind the video. I think a lot more can be expected from this person in the future. Overall a good video.
<a href= "http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... hp?v=36324" target= "_blank">Sandman at a-m-v.org</a>
Title: No Leaf Clover
By: Asilex X
Song: No Leaf Clover (S&M version)
Artist: Metallica with Michael Kamen and the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra
Anime: Evangelion
Timed pretty well. I a little slow for the song I thought. The quality is okay especially given the compression. Has some size issues. Some nice scene use at parts. This person is definitely a rising talent. You can see a good bit of improvement by the end. I commend them for doing this well on such a long song. The credits were cool too. It was spectacular, but I thought it well worth the download.
If you like the music here is some info:
I have the album (S & M) the song is from and it is great. Two discs to 21 songs, most of which are long. I think the shortest was an odd ball at around 3 minutes. The longest was about 9 minutes. Most were around 5 or 6. It tends to sell for about 25 bucks, but it is 2 disc. Some of the songs came out better than ever orchestrated, like The Memory Remains, For Whom the Bell Tolls, and One. If you find you like the music to this video the album is full of many other great songs as well. Nice concert feel as it was recorded live with what must have been really great equipment.
<a href= "http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... hp?v=28666" target= "_blank">No Leaf Clover at a-m-v.org</a>
One to Weird Al.
Title: Your Evascope for Today
By: Ultimatetransfan
Song: Your Horoscope for Today
Artist: Weird Al Yankovic
Anime: Evangelion
Odd to find a funny video to Evangelion. Nice scene use. It could have been faster, but it’s the scene use that was important. The audio is good, but some of the video could have been better. Some of the video has size issues, some is a little dark, and some is a little low on quality. The video quality is not too bad though. It is funny despite its flaws.

Romance Part 1
Romance:
Here is a good unconventional one.
Title: Find My Way
By: Prince Majin Trunks
Song: Find My Way
Artist: P.O.D.
Anime: Samurai X (Kenshin)
A romance video that's fun to watch and not sickeningly sweet. It is sort of an action/romance fusion. Sometimes I think the scenes jump to fast to match the beat. (Cut scenes to a slightly later part of the same scene.) Other than that this video is awesome. Great use of fades and overlaps. The scene use is superb. This is one of the best Kenshin videos I have ever seen. I think I have only about ten Kenshin videos, but this and another one dominates by far.
<a href= "http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... hp?v=32851" target="_blank">Prince Majin Trunks at a-m-v.org</a>
More of a drama, but has a romantic feel. (That’s a given just about for any Sailormoon video.)
Title: This Isn’t What We Meant
By: kaston (Gryphon Studios)
Song: This Isn’t What We Meant
Artist: Savatage
Anime: Sailor Moon
This is a very nice video.
Not the way I would have encoded widescreen, with the black bars above and below. The picture quality is okay. Somewhere around the same level of picture quality as Another Sunday Afternoon, but without the size issue.
Incredible effect use especially the use of a flare and different art style effects. Incredible scene use with a nice combination of music and lyric timing. This video really brings out the tragedy and action sequences of Sailormoon with a very emotional feel. This video is the best one I have seen for portraying the more tragic side of Sailormoon. Plus it does it without being boring.
Note: Senshi on Springer is the best for showing the crazy odd funny not quite right scenes of Sailormoon (Nobody makes people laugh like Weird Al Yankovic.)
As for the video at hand, if it hadn’t been for This Isn’t What We Meant I may never have downloaded Sailormoon videos. It is really good.
<a href= "http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... .php?v=456" target= "_blank">This Isn’t What We Meant</a>
This is the other really good Kenshin video.
Title: Memories
By: Roy “Kenshin” Heiser
Song: Crawling
Artist: Linkin Park
Anime: Kenshin (Samurai X and Rurouni Kenshin)
Everybody does Linkin Park, but not like this. Not by far. Don’t be put off due to the repetitive use of Linkin Park. Sometimes someone has to do a video or a song right simply because so many people do it. This is one of those times.
This is the really the only semi sort of tiny problem with the video. I am not even sure it should be called a problem because in a way it is good. It starts out with some back story in Japanese with subtitles. I am not sure if I would say this is good or bad. For those less familiar with Kenshin it may give more emotional weight to the video. Even for those that are familiar with Kenshin it kind of builds suspense. The only bad thing is that openings like that don’t always have that high a replay value. (As long of credits that I put on videos I should really shut up. I like the back story opening myself, but I just know some may not.)
The scene use is excellent. Some of the scene use goes beyond measure. The audio and video quality are great. I wouldn’t call this guy a video editor, more like video artist. This video is one of the best I have ever seen out of any type of video. This video demands that you download it. Trust me its that good.
Warning this is not a happy video. But its to good to matter.
<a href= "http://dragonballarena.gamesurf.it/engl ... enshin.php" target= "_blank">Dragonball Arena</a>
Another good romance video. It has a sad feel to it, but it constitutes a romance video.
Title: Misery
By: Frankie Maclean (Sakkaku Studios)
Song: Misery
Artist: Soul Asylum
Anime: Samurai X
A little slow at times, but very dramatic. Nice video quality. Some scenes are a little dark, but that is more from the anime itself. Nice use of fades, cut scenes, and both musical and lyrical timing. You have to be a little quick to keep up with what is getting timed to what. The way it was timed is complex, but it makes the video better. I warn you it is sad. Really sad, but a great strictly romantic video.
<a href= "http://dragonballarena.gamesurf.it/engl ... enshin.php" target= "_blank">Dragonball Arena</a>
Title: Save Tonight
By: Evil Trunks
Song: Save Tonight
Artist: Eagle Eye Cherry
Anime: Video Girl Ai
This is one of the bestt traditional romantic videos to a romantic anime that I have seen. The video quality is high, but I could tell that it likely came from a VHS. The audio is good except for one little hiccup, but maybe I didn’t download it right.
The song works well with the anime. The amv is a little slow, but it kind of has to be slow. If a lot of effects and cut scenes were used it would have taken away from the mood.

Romance Part 2
Here is a Linkin Park one, but don’t worry its pretty good.
Title: With You I Can Live
By: Kastong
Song: With You
Artist: Linkin Park
Anime: Sailormoon
Nice quality video. Only the typical slight miss size. Good audio. Nice use of effects and great, but not quite perfect lip-syncing. Excellent excellent scene. Could have been a little faster, but that might have spoiled the scene use. If I list a Linkin Park video it has to be good, so give it shot.
<a href= "http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... .php?v=831" target= "_blank">With You at a-m-v.org</a>
OMG a happy romantic video.
Title: One Week (of Slayers is Never Enough)
By: Karen Stevens
Song: One Week
Artist: Barenaked Ladies
Anime: Slayers
This video good despite that it is actually been around a while. It is a nice size and great quality. Matches the scenes well. Lip-syncs like crazy. Sometimes it can be hard to match the scenes to the lyrics and pace of the music and still lip-sync. This video does a pretty good job of doing of that. I was amazed at how well some of the scenes worked. Right down to the joking Sailormoon reference in both the song and the anime.
<a href= "http://www.chibiusa.com" target= "_blank">chibiusa.com</a>
The gateway kept timing out so you may need to search for it or try ptp.
Alright if you want to life here is the music for it.
Title: Your Hinascope for Today
By: stalfos
Song: Your Horoscope for Today
Artist: Weird Al Yankovic
Anime Love Hina
Man is this song funny. The scenes match well. The quality of audio and video is nice. This is funny stuff here. The video is a little slower than I would have tried to made it, but the concept is excellent. Some more lyrical scene changes would have been nice, but the pace certainly doesn’t distract form the romantic comedy aspect. Maybe changing the pace would have made it difficult to work in some of the scenes. This video is very funny and portrays the romantic comedy well.
<a href= "http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... .php?v=582" target= "_blank">Hinascope at a-m-v.org</a>
Something about this one just makes you smile.
Title: Chick Magnet
By: MeriC
Song: Chick Magnet
Artist: MXPX
Anime: Boys Be
The video quality is extremely nice with the audio to match. The scene use is good too. The lip-syncing is a little off a one part, but good over all. I like the scene use to the guitar note at about 2:07. I like the scenes used at about 1:13 to 1:24, they have sort of mischievous humor them. Nice ending on the lyrics too.
<a href= "http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... php?v=3004" target= "blank">Chick Magnet at a-m-v.org</a>
Not sure where I found this one, but found a location with it.
Title: Gravity of Love
By: Sephiroth
Song: Gravity of Love
Artist: Enigma
Anime: Utena
All right this one has a very far away visionary feel to it. The video and audio quality is quite nice. The scene use to the lyrics is really good. The timing is excellent. The editor really knew when to use what effect. The lip-syncing is great and is often done overlapped to keep the video moving. The song is really done justice and ties to the anime perfectly. The ending really fits well. This is a shoujo-ai video for those who don’t know. (It is to Utena you know.)
The end credits gave me the web address, but said it was hosted by yuri studios. So I don’t know if there is something you may not want to see on the site. It is yuri studios so you might be offended by it. I don’t think anything other than maybe a kiss is pictured on the actual download page from what I saw. I don’t think there was anything offensive, but I can’t really remember if this is where I got the video.
If your offend by yuri or what not, you may want to find an alternate location to download from.
<a href= "http://videos.yuricon.com" target= "_blank">Yuri Studios</a>
This one has a nice beat, be aware that it is a shoujo-ai video.
Title: Diggin Your Scene
By: Kun----‘-.-{@ (Weird but that is what the page said)
Song: Diggin Your Scene
Artist: Smash Mouth
Anime: Rose Of Versailles
This one really warped the story a bit from what I understand to get a shoujo-ai video. I don’t really care because it has nice beat. It uses scenes very well. The quality is great for both video and audio. The timing is nice. I definitely gets across a sort of twisted crazy relationship. The scenes conveyed the song well. I think the anime was actually based on an old legend, but I can’t remember exactly what it was.
Be aware that like the above video is at Yuri Studios.
<a href="http://videos.yuricon.com" target= "_blank">Yuri Studios</a>
This one is a little too sweet, but well made. The intention seemed to be to make something too sweet.
Title: My Sweetness
By: Hitori (Hitori Studios)
Song: Sugar Sugar (Candy Girl)
Artist: The Archies
Anime: Steel Angel Kurumi
This video has nice quality. It is a very cute type video. It might be a little too sweet for some. It is well made and timed. It is a nice video, but remember it is to shoujo-ai. If shoujo-ai offends you, you may not want to download the video.

Romance Part 3 of 3
This one is pretty good.
Title: She’s Got Issues...Kusanagi’s Paying
By: Kyotoko
Song: She’s Got Issues
Artist: Offspring
Anime: Blue Seed
This one is pretty good. It has some quality issues and a minor size issue. The lip-syncing is okay. The scene use is nice. Funny too. The video is a little on the slow side. This isn’t the best romance around, but it is unconventional and pretty cool. It has some empty dialogue parts (talking with no lyrics). The concept was solid so I put in the list here.
This one also falls in the horror category some.

Tatu seems popular today so here is one to them.
Title: Witch Hunter Tatu
By: hawede
Song: How Soon Is Now
Artist: TATU
Anime: Witch Hunter Robin
Cool effect uses. Nice quality all round, a little bit of a size issue with the video. The timing and scene use are great. Definitely plays up that thing between Robin and Amun.
Another AMV with a far away feel. Perfect song for the anime with some very nice effects.

Puts Teen Movies to Shame
Title: Nothing Perfect
By: Priuscomet
Song: Another Perfect Day
Artist: American HiFi
Anime: Please Teacher
This one is a little dull, but done well. Not my style of music but the video is done well, so many may like it. The effects are done pretty well. The scenes are used well to the theme. The AMV really puts to shame all the crappy teen movies that use this song.

Sad one to Please Teacher.
Title: Infinity
By: Priuscomet
Song: When it’s cold, I’d like to Die
Artist: Moby
Anime: Please Teacher
This one is depressing. I think it portrays the show a little sadder than it really is to watch. There is a good concept to the AMV. Pretty well made video. I think a lot can be expected from Priuscomet in the future.
<a href= "http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... hp?v=10429" target= "_blank">Infinity at a-m-v.org</a>
Good quality audio and video. The text really enhances the video I think.
This one is good to a very romantically based anime.
Upbeat one to Please Teacher.
Title: A Teacher’s Love
By: kingmob_867
Song: Good Love
Artist: Young Rascals
Anime: Please Teacher
It’s funny with good picture quality. The audio is a little flat, but not too bad. Again another video that the widescreen could have been done better, but the quality is still intact. The AMV puts the teen movies to shame that always seem to use this song. It is cute and funny. The scenes work very well. I like a lot of the scene use. The timing is pretty nice too. Good concept and a good video.
<a href= "http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... hp?v=35347" target= "_blank">Good Love at a-m-v.org</a>
A multiple anime video. (I typically think these break theme to much, but here is an exception.)
Title: Blue Monday
By: Aluminum Studios
Song: Blue Monday (remake of New Order’s song)
Artist: Orgey
Anime: Sailor Moon, Utena, Lain, a little Giant Robot, and Evangelion
Most of Aluminum Studios videos are good. Nice effects and good scene use. (Gee, you think that give a good impression by now.) It misses some beats but all in all nice timing. Has some size issues with picture, but great video quality. Great audio too. Nice lip-syncing too. As I watch the videos again while writing review, I thought I would mention effects and scene use again. It has some good uses of cut scenes and strobe effects as well. Aluminum Studios tends to make good videos, so I expected this one to be as good as it is.
Again the site may still be down so check a-m-v.org or ptp software.

Horror
Horror
This category took some thought. I typically find horror movies and things to just be gross and not scary at all. I just think life can be a lot scary than death. Plus the general set up of horror flicks tend to me find some sort of sick humor in it. I find myself yawning or starting to things like MST3K. (Mystery Science Theater 3000. Now you see why I abbreviate it. Funny abbreviate should be long enough to have an abbreviation.) I was having a hard time defining what constitutes a horror AMV.
I was at a loss. Then I thought of this video.
Title: The Fight Song
By: NHMK
Song: The Fight Song
Artist: Marilyn Manson
Anime: Berserk
Just damn. This video is incredible. The timing and quality are great. Seldom do a song and anime go so well together. Beware heads well roll. This is one messed up video, but in a good way. The scenes and timing really give a great impression. I would be hard pressed to think of any realistic way this video could be much better than it is already. I mean this video was really done well. This guy must have spent a long time and lot of thought on this video.
I couldn’t think of any other videos that are really cool to the horror section. Except maybe Dead Bodies everywhere by Steve Pope to Berserk. Its at the same location. If you want to find good horror AMVs then your best bet is search for ones made by Berserk fans.

If anything is wrong in this post let me know. It was a lot to proof read and check over.
If you want some tips to other great videos in other categories or to a certain song post it. I don't think I will go quite ss all out as did just now, though.
Sorry it was so long, but I think it will help.
(A tip for finding AMVs
Random searches help to uncover new talent. As do searches for certain anime or music.
If you find someone that is really good, most of their videos will be cool.
Then you can see if they mention anyone that inspired them or any other reference to another AMV creator to check out. This is a good way to find cool AMVs.)

Fluxy's "Gatz and God" is more of a hardcore action than horror. If you know Berserk series, the scenes used in the AMV are nothing compared to *trembling voice* Ep.25 scenes *end trembling*.

*blushes with Rozard* Thank you. ^_^ladydx wrote:SRV-
Hmm..well if you're looking for something a little off the beaten path of SRV's but still romance you might try these...These Angel Hearts by Cyanna it's a really good one IMHO..
But now I feel a bit like a total idiot. What does SRV stand for anyway? "Spoiler Romance Vid" or something?
