4. Human to kill with gun and then cook with fire.

Ha! I'll one up you gun people - I'd collect feces to make saltpeter with. Then I'd burn some trees to make charcoal, and I could probably find some sulfur on the island. Gather up gravel or sharp rock bits and BOOM! Crude blackpowder!

So:

1. Four dogs (two male, two female, for food and breeding)
2. Some type of blackpowder shotgun, musket, or whatnot
3. Machete
4. Rodents in a box (for a more common food source)
5. Seeds (for another food source)

If I get really desperate, I'll swim or drift over to one of the other islands and kill people for their supplies.

It depends on what you can do. If I cannot leave the island, the I'll try to populate the island first... not the point of tourism (I like my solitude) but to some extent resources for me...

1. Basic supplies... RF with food, drink, and generator
2. Paintball or Lasertag system
3. Toshiba e755 Pocket PC with GPS, satellite phone, satellite TV (Sky PerfecTV for anime and DishNet for HBO), fax machine, pictures, Pro|ENGINEER Wildfire, and everythign else.
3a. If I can qualify this as part of my computing setup, all my servers, the satellite setup, the TV, and everything else I can qualify as one item.
4. A slide rule, pencils, paper, the Aestivalis-style workstation system I have (clear drafting table on swivels), Z Corporation 460 3d prototyping printer (incl power/binder) and everything else in the Engineering Lab.
5. Friends and colleagues (wait, do I have them?) LOL

If I can only have 5 items now, I pick the PocketPC satellite phone w/GPS and some otehr fun items but no basic supplies. Why?

Then realistically I could work from the island and still make money faxing my blueprints over to CompanyName, in my spare time I'd organize a way get other things on the island and sooner or later everything's fine.

With all that time on the island, II'll go ahead and make an engineering grade Gundam model. Give me the electromagnetic casting machines from Colorado School of Mines, nanotech labs to make Gundanium and of course:
