I remember using a Sliver deck, but deck was probably my elf deck which a friend of mine helped to build. I was able once to produce some 5 thousand mana for a fireball...would have been great had the other guy not had a counter spell.

shivan hellkite is pretty good. it's a wee bit more expensive to play than shivan dragon, but it has an ability that can damage creatures or players. it's a kickass card

None that I'm allowed to reveal until my team has won a tournament with them :)

I'm a serious Magic player, 10000 odd cards and piles of rare collection stuff, tournaments etc. My highest ever ranking was over 1700, but that was momentary. I've not been doing the Regionals thing for long, but one of my friends made Nationals (England, that is) last year.

I also like Serra Avatar from my n00b days, and Scroll Rack from my current tournament-y outlook on things.

Here's a combo but with a little bit of a risk. If you play a squirrel deck. And by turn 7 if everthing goes well you maybe able to pull off this combo. First- Play dwell on the past. Then play some token cards like chatter of the squirrell or acron harvest. Then play Parallel Evolution. Then when you have another Dwell on the past hold it . First thing before the second dwell you play Morality Shift so that way the only thing in your deck is Dwell on the past. Some token cards and Parallel Evolution. Then once you think your out of cards you have four cards in your graveyard and no deck. Well Dwell on the past for three cards plus another dwell on the past that is in your graveyard. So this is an endless cycle. Sure it seems like alot when I type it. On a scale 1 - 10 to pull this off 1 being easy 10 being hardest. I would give it a 6. But the deck it self with out pulling out all of this stuff should win.

So...how do you deal with a control deck at that point then?

say somebody simply casts a counter-spell?
