I plan to put this story on my profile at some point, but a close family friend was one of the two members of Hot Fudge Productions, and around 2005/06 my parents showed me a VHS tape with their Gundam Wing AMV "Invincible" on it. I was pretty young at the time and had never heard of AMVs so I just thought I was watching a really cool intro to a show I had never seen before. When it was over they explained it to me and there was this very clear moment of "Wait, YOU CAN DO THAT??? " And thus a brand new world was opened up It would be almost another decade before I really got into anime as a medium, but I can't count the amount of times I came back to this for inspiration when I was starting out. ^_^
