For the seasoned anime watcher who has had the internet at his disposal for years and hates to watch reruns on television and has no sense of nostalgia either because it's just not there or they didn't watch toonami as a kid it's useless....
I did watch Toonami as a kid (DBZ, Gundam Wing and Tenchi), but yes..i don't get nostalgic about it, i just see it as something from the past that has no reason to be in the future. As for new stuff, why would you wait 1 week for a new episode of Soul Eater or w/e when you can download the bluray and watch it whenever you please?
okay, as a hardcore anime fan (or even semi-hardcore), toonami probably shouldn't be your PRIMARY source of anime, but it's fun to watch, they've got the best bumpers in my, and probably every other fan's opinion, and they show (or used to show) pretty much, little AMVs, and that's probably what i love most about the bumps now.
but in the bigger picture, supporting toonami means toonami gets money which means the anime industry gets a boost, especially the anime industry in america.
that's only ideal though, i'm not one of those that really really believes in toonami as the messiah of anime or saturday nights, just optimistic i guess, i watch because it's fun to watch, even if i have seen everything they're showing.
