Ugh. Head, meet desk. Again.VicBond007 wrote:Straight from our new program director. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss, folks.
"As far as the AMV Overflow, that's what we have to deal with. There were
a number of industry titles and premieres Ree had to put in there and
that's the time slot. If the event is as big and as popular as expected
people will have to adjust checking out accordingly. The front desk can
hold baggage, check out can be done from the TV. It should not be that
detrimental.
All in all, Sunday is a bad day to schedule anything so I would
appreciate your understanding in being flexible here."
Now we non-finalists have to worry about our little AMVs getting even fewer viewers at the Overflow instead of 2600 viewers at the contest showing. Again.
What's even worse is that I may have to leave Baltimore early on Sunday morning to get back to work that afternoon. Tech support waits for no one, especially if you still haven't been granted the time off that you put in for FOUR MONTHS AGO.... *sigh*

Well thank you so much ^^. ON reflection It was rushed, because I have been working this summer as a graphic designer, so super busy, and really wasn't my best work. And stuff like this really only inspires me to do better next year

If your video looks exceptionally stunning, it would only make since that you get a extra point or two since it adds to the charm. And if your video looks like horse shit, it would probably get DQed.MycathatesyouAMV wrote:Is video quality a factor in juding at all ? Just wondering

It won't get DQ'd, but it will get downranked into oblivion. If nobody wants to look at the video, nobody will want to watch it either. That last sentence makes sense, you just have to read it a few times.kireblue wrote:If your video looks exceptionally stunning, it would only make since that you get a extra point or two since it adds to the charm. Lord knows on at least 1/3 of the 136 videos I watched at the pre-screenings, I wrote LOOKS LIKE ASS in big letters for many of the entries. Or words to that effect.VicBond007 wrote:It won't get DQ'd, but it will get downranked into oblivion. If nobody wants to look at the video, nobody will want to watch it either. You'd think by sending an entry to Otakon, you could have at least used proper footage, not stuff that came off of YouTube or downloaded fansubs. If you're going to rip footage, do it from legit (or near-legit) sources....
