In general I can forgive if this is the first offense, but you repeat offenders know better and should show a little more respect for the coordinators. Hell, I keep mine from my studio members in the (unlikely) chance they actually edit something.
So you don't approve of video #6 since it's easy to figure out who made it? I did go to Nate's profile and he doesn't have it listed, so technically he's not breaking the "new video" rule that's unofficial between the entrants.
I used to discuss the whole new video rule at great lengths with Quu. THe line of thought we always had was that one of the big things that made Pro unique was that it was peer reviewed. Blinding entries was to prevent favoritism in the voting because there are far too many people who would vote for their friends over someone they don't know personally. It was for blinding purposes that most people also adopted an "original videos only" rule that was pretty much just self employed. As I demonstrated earlier in the 10 minutes I spent looking up the videos using super search on the org I found that nearly 10% of the entrants have the videos already premiered. That was 10 minutes of searching. Quu mentioned he liked the idea of a google search rule, he told me that he wanted to work with Jingoro and actually implement something like that for this year but that never happened.
Personally I'd love to see an original content. I love competing with something that hasn't been battle tested yet. This is part of the reason why I love masters so much. We could always see if Jingoro is willing to give it a shot for next year. At worst it'll be in effect for only a year and if it doesn't work, 2014 they can allow entries that have been to other cons again.
Gimme a minute, I'll make a cool one....
