AMV flaws you want to admit

Comedy videos can be funny, it doesn't make them good or well edited. And sorry if I offend anyone but if all you do is take a funny song and slap some lip sync on it and a few filler scenes, that doesn't make a good video. It will make an audience laugh and love you for it, but it doesn't mean it's good.

If a video makes me laugh and I hade a good time watching it then I consider it good. Even if the creator didn't put 30 hard-to-do effects, a complex story and 50+ hours in it. (: It's about the feel for me.

Of course I never said anything about effects or story or the amount of time it takes to make the video.

This is very true, but I was just pointing out that it doesn't have to be edited well if the concept is strong enough, not that the concept doesn't have to be good.

My first comedy that people seemed to like was Camelot, part of the reason it did so well back then was that amvs were just taking off and there was a large number of songs that were untapped. That one for me was just scene matching, and some really bad lip sync.

The army of darkness trailer I did the following year I feel better about, just because I tried some effects (back then that crappy car falling effect took a lot of work and was all I could do with what I had at the time) But what worked for that video was the fact that the series I chose, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust and Trigun meshed really well with the show. Last drama I attempted was Wonder Boy back in 2002. I had ideas for some, but I just couldn't put the thing together. That was more of a clashing with how I edit. as for action I've never mastered the ability to get a good flow with it. usually the scenes are too drawn out and action really needs to be fast paced.

I should also say I think the person's personality also factors in. I'm a goofy person and always cracking jokes to my friends. The few people I know that make comedy videos almost exclusively are much the same.
