I still watch a healthy amount of anime, mainly keeping up on the new stuff. So on average, I'd say I spend more time watching anime than AMVs.

In a certain way, same thing here. Of course, if there's someone who uses the new anime series for their AMVs or uses anime that NOBODY bothers using, I'll be defientely more interested in AMVs (thus why I pimp some underrated videos in my sig like what I'm doing to the YamiBou video I discovered :D ).

Yeah, I actually do watch AMVs a lot more then anime now. Of course, this is because most anime doesn't offer the cool content and sync that AMVs do, along with my favorite music.

Anime still holds the lead since I've been into anime way before I ever attempted to make an AMV. However, it's cyclical for me.

I've gained interest in a lot more anime because of the AMVs. I love to watch AMVs as a preview to a series. That leads me to buying more DVDs which then inspires me to work on an AMV of my own. I spend days if not weeks listening to music to try and find something original. I then do more searches on the org to see if someone has already used that piece. If so, I watch their AMV to make sure the concepts are different or I simply mark that off as BTDT and move on to the next musical piece.

I wind up watching the series over and over (because I enjoyed it) to see what clips I would like to use. I also try to come up with some alternate or parallel theme to the series in my proposed AMV. This cycle lasts at least a month so I don't actually start editing at all. Once the editing starts I limit my viewing of other anime I have purchased and it will probably take another month of editing (damn day job gets in the way).

I have a queue of at least 6 series that are still waiting to be watched. However, I still check out other AMVs which leads me to buying even more which I won't get to watch until later. I get inspired once again (hopefully once my current project is done) and prepare for the next round.

I've found I'm more into the AMV side of things nowadays than I am the anime...mainly because I've not found a series I've like that well since finishing Bebop and Trigun.

Then when I realized I don't wanna do an amv to a certain series.. it kinda stays on the shelf and collects dust. :?

Both, kinda, I would say. AMVs are my one and only hobby in general, I'm crazy after them, but I also watch alot of anime without a thought of using them in an AMV first.

But well yeah, it can be said that I spend around the same amount of time watching AMVs as watching Anime, but I rather work on an AMV than doing the latter. Then again, almost all the time I spend in the internet goes to the AMV Community, only a little goes into looking for new Anime and such.

No. I'm into AMVs because I like anime, not the other way around.

Well, You can't really find good anime in here, but well, I still get to watch it, and yes, I only watch more anime in order to edit more AMV's.
