It stands for Anime Universe Network (which was a website that Bakadeshi made). I remember that someone posted this on Chiisus' formspring. http://www.formspring.me/Chiiisus/q/260552050792740092

Anyway, I don't actually look at the song/ anime combination of the video before I watch it. When I scroll down the announcement thread, I search for any creative or catchy thread titles. Then I search for editors that I know of. For about a year, I watched every single video in the announcement thread and rarely let one go unchecked, but that really became tiring. I still watch a significant number of them though.

Back to the point: If you give your video some generic "character x vs character y" name, its gonna turn people off. And if your user name requires significant effort to remember, people won't even be able to remember if you've made good videos in the past. I actually put a lot of thought into naming my videos.
i was curious about the aun thing too, actually, that's kinda neat.

that's a good way to do it i guess. That's way impressive about the whole year thing. i tried that for 2 days but i forgot the next day or got lazy.

i agree completely agree and relate with the last paragraph.

Another thing that really turns me off threads is when people are self-demotivating in their announcement threads. Stuff like "I know I suck, and this was made in just 39 minutes with WMM, so don't watch it".

BE MORE CONFIDENT! If you're not confident, how can other people be confident in your work?

The only thing I look for in a name is that it isn't something "Goku is crawling in the dark looking for the answers" or "Naruto's love is Sakura's drug" because not only do those names drive me up the wall, but they generally end up to some pretty un-creative vids too. Granted, there are ways these kinds of names can be used well, but you actually have to put some effort into them!

As for usernames and studio names... I agree with Code that usernames like xXxMAdOKa245xXx can be a slight turnoff but that usually doesn't stop me from watching them if the vid itself sounds interesting. As for studio names...I honestly don't get the point of them so I dont even pay attention.

It generally takes me a bit of time before I come up with a name for an AMV I'm satisfied with. An original/interesting/clever title can do wonders to get the AMV noticed, so I try to be creative in that department. We should totally have a VCA category for "Best AMV Title". The fight for the win would be awesome!

Whatever you do, just don't call it "[name of anime] AMV"
I'm sure you can be a little more creative than those guys.

Well, on youtube people looking for video, will usually watch one....then choose the next one from the suggested videos list, it's very likely somebody will click the video with the catchy title, name or pretty looking thumbnail.

On this site people are more open minded and will probably check something out thats been announced regardless of name or title.
