Why are so many people against using rap music in AMVs?

it has to fit in some way, otherwise you wouldn't have come up with the goddamn idea.

I think what Oto means is that it doesnt have to be an obvios fit. Their are loads of songs which fit easily onto varios anime. Then their are songs which will go past most people, but someone will listen to them and see an idea. It'l probably be hard as hell to work at, as their'l most likely be nothing like it, but that gives the amv something special before its even started.

One thing about making a rap amv is that to do one any justice you have to do a hell of a lot of editing because the song usually spans so many types of things. well as in say a rock song there is mainly chorus an few lyrics, rap songs tend to have more lyrics that cover a wide variaty of things.
I did a rap amv using ludacris, who raps fairly fast which results in a lot of editing for each verse.

Where doing a rock song would take me say 2 weeks to edit a rap song may take 3-4
so people tend not to do them because they arent recieved well by the majority.
i generally use a diffewrnet scale when looking for good rap amvs
a good rule of thumb for me is to add about .5 to there score to balance out with the other videos.

I dont care that people dont use it in amv's cause personally i think anything more then the instrumental would pretty much be a bad idea unless you can find the footage.

I'm just baffled why people bash rap so much...

They were on the street making money... saw that the way they were doing it was wrong and now are making money a legal way... and a lot more money at that. So they talk about asses and tits... I mean shit if you've ever heard a female rapper they go 1000000000000000x worse then that. Just listen to a Lil Kim uncut track and you'll see that the target audience does not feel offended by it. You say you dont wanna hear someone talking about that stuff and that it disrespects women... but how many of you have porn pictures/movies on your computer you fucking hypocrites.

Rap has it's jewels and craps as do all music genres. Every music genre is fitting for any type of AMV, just put some brain to it.
