Sorry for the bold
Sorry to double post.
I just wanted to apologize for all that bold. Something must have gone weird when I cut/pasted back from my word processor.

Explanation
You write little and understand less.
Start by reading the previous posts before jumping in the middle.

Of course I understand less, I am clearly not metal enough : |
I'm sorry for jumping in to posts like these, I'll just sit back and let you make obscure references with drawn out explinations about bands you know little about, genres you can't quite clearly define and logic that just doesn't seem to sink in, my deepest apologies
/end of noninformed post

Oh how convenient. A theory about God that doesn't require looking through a telescope.

I wish someone would end this stupid forum.
Actually I know a lot about Metallica.
Stuff like this.
In there original demo they told the company that they were a four member band. In reality only Larrs and James were in the band. James played all the guitar parts and did vocals. Larrs acted as drummer and manager.
When thet got accepted it was like an oh shit moment because they had to come up with two more members.
I did screw up on what Incubus band I was talking about though. My spell check changed the spelling so when I went back the next day I thought I was talking about something else.
Logic
Music Form and Playing Style = Genre
Heavy Metal = hard guitar pressing, power chords, attitude, often loud broad sound range, warped sound with what was originally considered improper amp tuning
Heavy Metal originated from Rock, but became too distinct to be grouped back to the Rolling Stones and others.
Main Metal sections include:
type - general description void of the more musical aspects which seem to piss people off
Black - Dark in tone, but not too chaotic
Death - Dark and chaotic
Classic - this would be your "lighter" (in tone at least) metal, happier in sound
Speed - Similar to classic, but became faster overal
Thrash - Added a some chaos to a faster sound
It kind of makes a wheel, although some more minor categories exist beyond these.
<-Thrash - Speed - Classic - Black - Death ->
Yeah DDramone she is very funny and even more right. But thats what happens when metal fans get together i.e. war. That is probably why Metal will continue to get that little forsaken corner of the chain music stores.

Actually, between metalheads, there's very few 'genere wars'. This thread is a complete oddity, and it's incredibly one sided, if you havent noticed. Us against you. We, as metal fans, understand that the many many subgenere's of metal can get convoluted, and that while some peoeple will call Mercenary death metal, others will call them Agressive Power metal. In the end, no one gives a shit, overall, what band ends up in what genere, as long as you don't say, for example, that Sonata Artica is Progressive Metal. If you say something completely retarded, expect people to jump all over you. If you say something understandably confusing, such as "New Dimmu Borgir is Black Metal!" People are going to say "Not really anymore. They've toned it down" .. and then reclassify them. Others may disagree, but it comes down to the music in the end.
Just don't be rediculious. Hell, I classified Iced Earth as Progressive for a long time myself. I never got the kind of shit you're getting.

in actuallity the no life till leather demo had lars on drums, james on guitar, dave mustain(megadeth) on guitar, and ron mcguvney on bassHeavyMetal wrote:Actually I know a lot about Metallica.

Actually, he might be referring to the period before their appearance on the first Metal Massacre complex, when Lars' role was "crappy, uncoordinated, drummer who lies to Brian Slagel about having a band so he can get on the record" and James was "guitarist sick of jamming with Lars but still hanging out with him in order to leech his record collection".
It must have been, because he didn't pull Lloyd Grant out when talking about lineups, as does the true Metallica-trivia weenie.
<sword, did I just post in this thread again? why am I helping raise the retardedness quotient???>

Shin Hatsubai is a Premiere-free studio. Insomni-Ack is habitually worthless.
