What is the black restore effect?
You put the black restore effect (streaming) in the cilp and you will have to set the threshold because it will be at 0. It's kind of hard to explain, sort of how you can have a glow on white highlights but without any glow......

I usually use gaussian blur to soften the edges. You can also use either only horizontal or only vertical blur to get an effect I like. It's hard to explain.
If you want to see an example, I used it a lot in this movie trailer. 0:20 has black restore without any blur. For the rest of them I used the gaussian blur for effects like 0:17 or 0:49 where I used the gradient map in the second part of that transition to make it red, but it only lasts for an instant. I also used it with the blur and tv simulator for the transition at 1:27. For a short clip at 1:37 I started the threshold at 1.000 and let if fade into 0. You can see why it's useful for something like a horror movie, I really like the effect a lot
