Howdy ^_^
.. I've been playing with Pinnacle Studio Pro 11 for about a week now and I'd have to agree with Minion on Magix over Pinnacle ~_~ ... its cheaper and easier to work with ~_~
.. The good news is that, "its not money waisted" to have this Pinnacle version -- it can do a few things which are impossible with Magix Pro 12.
.. ummm , I'll leave it at that! ... ( time to find Vegas 7 somewhere; they don't sell it kn Minnesota -- as far as I can tell ~_~ )

Magix Video 2007 w/AC_*
.. it seems that Magix over sea's has visited this board.
I recieved an E-mail from [ an un-named source ] and with it came an Evaluation Download.
Magix Video 2008 w/AC_* Encoders which I thought was kinda un-expected!
.. I tryed the Magix Video 2006 when it came out and I thought it was cheesy!
This version is not in English and it is not going to be released in English.
System Requirements:
WinME 2003 OEM, XP PRO ( not being redesigned for Vista ), Linux, OS-X
AMD Athlon 700 and 512meg memory
HD: AMD Athlon 1.2gig and 512meg memory
Intel 2.8 gig processor and 2gig memory
HD: not supported on XP and Linux
QuickTime - not supported [ seems MP4 is not just a Container
]
Divx/Xvid - not recommended for anything ( hehe )
Formats depend on your Video Card:
2424 X 1366 ( 1366i )
1920 x 1080 ( 1080i )
.. all the 720i's
Codec's depend on your Audio Card:
AC_9, AC_8, AC_7, AC_6, AC_5, Digital Pro Logic, HQA Surround ... yes, I said Codec's.
. . . I'm getting the feeling that the US has waaay too many Patents on Audio >_<
I only bring this to your attention because it looks like "the Single Line Editors", like Virtual Dub, is here to stay ... Avid sold-out ... Ulead is up for bid ... Sony and Adobe are going to Court ... geez!!! ... if this keeps-up, HDTV and the New Gaming Standard I've been testing might not be around much longer ... except for UnderGround Development.

KioAtWork: I'm so bored. I don't have class again for another half hour.

I have one thing to suggest for pinnacle if your going to use it.
Don't clump all your video files into one folder.
For some reason the programers thought it would be a good idea to
have every scene pre-render up in the list.
It will make your processor usage jump up about 60% when you start up
the project page.
Other than that its a really easy program to use if your computer can handle it.
I just started with AE after using pinnacle on my first two tries at editing, and my head is swimmin now. I think after I get done with the masking part I'm going to jump back over to pinnacle for the whole timeline and overlay parts. The chroma keying green/blue screens are understandable to me there at leaste.
