though truthfully if i were you, id try to finish out this project and "deal" with the issue and then use lagarith on my next one...

i cant even import DIVX into my Vegas :/

hope it doesnt crash on you... DIVX is a good codec for distro but bad bad bad for editing O.o

Along the top edge of your preview window you should find an icon: a small square with a two-tone circle inside of it. Hover your mouse cursor over it and it will be marked as "Split Screen View". Click the arrow just to the right of it. Then click "Select All".

(P.S. Don't do the DivX thing anymore. :D )

Sorry! What I wrote isn't quite right. Doing that will disable FX over the entire preview screen.

What you want to do is click on that square icon and ignore the arrowhead beside it. When the icon is disabled (i.e. the button is not "depressed") then you will see all of your FX. When it is depressed, then you can select whether the FX are disabled on the left side, the right side, or all over.
