I got the DDR 2nd Mix Arcade machine a while back but I havent played the damn thing in like 8months since the pad got broken and all. Besides I'd rather play it at home becuase I dont like people starring at me when i play games like this.....The Reach to the Sky song on Light Mode for DDRMAX is kicking ass.....going too fast for meee!

1) In the arcade
2) With custom-made home pads

But even with the custom pads you can't beat the arcade!

^^ I'm in the Something Awful shirt, next to me is Alex, he's really good at doubles.

And then this is me after not sleeping for 36 hours and playing MAX300 (and getting an A, BTW):

Yes I'm asleep NEXT TO THE MACHINE. Do you have any idea how LOUD that thing is? :D

I've beaten every singles Oni course on DDR 7th Mix except for the first Demon Road, which I can get to Maxx Unlimited on and then I die (for obvious reasons). I've beaten Demon Road 2, even, although it took me a while, stupid Kakumei Dark Reverse. ^_^
Now I'm working on Doubles Oni which is way harder than singles, and vastly more strenuous, not to mention expensive ^_^

DDR forever!
DDR overkill? :? With custom made pads, do you mean where you nail the ones to a board? Meh, s'a good game, but I still got bored of it in time. Moved onto EZ2 Dancer! 8) 8) 8)

DDRMax is pretty fun, I have that and third mix (for PS1) at home. My eventual goal is to be able to beat ErMaC (yeah right...), but right now I max out around 8-9 difficulty songs. I've just recently gotten into double too, it really is lots of fun, after you get used to the pad i suggest you try it. Yeah, I guess that's all I have to say...

When did you get into double?? The only time we've tried double you pansied out cuz you got Paranoia Dirty Mix as your first song ;)

I'm a huge fan of DDR Max, I like it more than 3rd Mix, though it is easier. Vazor and his sister both think 3rd Mix is better, and for some songs I have to agree. I just the like the more "technoish" feel to Max. Though all the songs by Diva tend to throw me off...they're horrible!

heh, i got into it last time Steve came back, it really isn't that hard, you just have to figure out a method BEFORE trying the harder ones. BTW I can do paranoia on double now, so ha!

Double huh? I looked at the little menu thingy on the menu selection. But I would like to know how the hell it is played lol! I mean I know you use 2 boards at once but it just seems pretty damn weird you know? I mean what if it says < > < > on both pads (if it does) how would you pull that off? using both hands and feet maybe?

It doesn't, the steps are different so 1 person can do them so your screen looks like this:

(forgive the poor illustration, but you get the idea, right?)
