VBR used correctly

Sometimes the VBR is smaller than the CBR version because of the bit distribution. I've only tried it with Mp3s, but it tends to work sometimes

. And sometimes it becomes a much larger file

. I guess I'll just have to try experimenting with my next vid. Thanks for the info, I'll be sure to look out for these common errors O.O

But where is the VBR setting in the Lame MP3?
I only see CBR and ABR settings.....

a = average
the bitrate at any given time in the video will vary, but the encoder will allow you to set a target average bitrate.

I had timing problems like everyone;s been telling me I was sure to have, which I knew I'd get, but I'm gonna keep trying and checking around doom forums and such to find out how to do it right XD
Maybe a guide can come from it, but not likely cause noobs don't write guides O.o
