Well, some subs are part of the show (e.g., Puchuu-speak in Excel Saga)

...or if you want a more recent example, the English spoken by the NASA-esque folks in the first episode of Kashimashi ~Girl Meets Girl~ is hardsubbed in Japanese.

Just had to comment about the original topic. (Bad Willen, posting off-topic before...)

Is it just me, or does anyone else get annoyed at seeing the Divx logo when PLAYING a video? The first time I saw that logo I immediately searched for the option to turn that crap off. And the first time I played an AMV that had the logo I thought, "WTF? Divx has gone over the line, resetting my preferences." Then I realized that the AMV was crap...

Yes, and from the looks of the OP's OP, that's exactly why he wants to know how to keep it from getting into the videos he edits.

I just wish more people got annoyed... or use DVD footage.
