You can get the same effect much more cheaply with either K-mftoon (found in the MaskTools ZIP archive) or the combination of FastLineDarken and LimitedSharpen.

I've just discovered an even easier idea: simply switch out mfToon() for mfToonLite(). ^_^

(Assuming your version of the mfToon script includes mfToonLite.)
