If you've seen the series, the you've seen post-Naga.

Although Naga's appearance in Slayers continuity predates Gourry and the gang, chronologically speaking, didn't the TV series air before any OVAs or movies came out?

Most likely. However in this case, it's as if he were saying, "I watch DBZ, but haven't seen the Buu saga". In other words, he is assuming that Naga is a character in the series.
