Yea, Bjork is still in the music business. She produced an LP last year named, “Medulla”. She is a lot more popular in eastern hemisphere than she is here. I like some of Bjork’s stuff, yet she can also produce some horrible sounding tracks. In reality she is not particularly a good singer, it is just her unusual angle that keeps her fans around.

I like Bjork and have for a long time. She has unusual songs, a unique sound and some of the most disturbingly awesome videos ever.

A performer who has earned the right to the title 'Artist' in my books :)

I have never in my entire experience with music have heard anyone else even barely scrape close to her vocal range. Her unique phrasing is usually what throws people off, and her intriguing choice of progressions. If you have heard a better singer, I know I'd sure like to hear it.

Bjork is one of the most innovate artists I've heard for a long time, and she takes risks, that's what I love about her.

Bjork is a god among ants. The entire Vespertine album is a masterpeice. For those sceptics, download these tracks.

Add "Pagan Poetry" and "Where is the Line" to that list.

Ooh, I think you're wrong about that. Even aesthetically speaking, she has great range and has no problem holding a note. She can do amazing things with her voice, and I think that is what qualifies a "good" or "talented" vocalist. On top of that, she can get that really throaty quality that few singers can do without sounding ridiculous. She's extremely diverse, and has enormous respect for the human voice. I say she's among the better singers in the world.

I’ve listened to just about everything Bjork has made, and as far as a “pure singer” goes she is weak. Now that is not to say she is not a good artists. The two are completely different things. I never said I didn’t like her.

As far as better singers go with more vocal range I can name quite a few: Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Brightman, Sarah McLachlen. Those are what I call singers. Put Bjork’s voice up against them minus style/backgrounds and you will see what I mean.

She's mastered the run-on sentence.

as far as her vocal talent goes, it's really just a matter of opinion. i think that for what she does she's a damn good singer, just i think that if she tries other songs or some MTV TRL bullshit song, her musical suck-osocility will show. but i'm also going to say that half the time i like the music more than her voice, and also say that you should never pester a tiger with stale donuts.

That's like saying Jimi Hendrix was a bad guitarist because Yngwie Malmsteen can play faster. You said Bjork is not a particularly good singer, but she is a good singer. That doesn't mean she's on par with a bunch of other typical vocalists. But she is a good singer.
