Beo: I'm sorry, and you know I love you :O, but I have to disagree with you completely. Sepuki made plenty of valid points that hardly seemed fabricated. This guy is clearly the one being fake, he wouldn't even give his real name for christ's sake (now that's what I call opinionated cowardice). He's just out to ruin somebody's day, probably because the banners he doesn't like are popular and he just can't grasp the notion that the everyday person isn't all that artistically sound in the head.

If he were smart he wouldn't care, and would just keep making his own banners anyways, because chances are there are other people out there who would enjoy them as a change from the mainstream.
The best effects are the ones you don't notice.

Thanks, AD-sama. That makes me feel better. ^_^. I appreciate that you took the time to look into it, too. <3.

Me to, I read mostly by avatars, so I didn't even notice till you posted that it was two people.

As far as this guy goes I agree with his point, the whole "hits/oppinions" thing was cool the first time, not the 1,000th. (Although it is an interesting barometer of creators experience. Still all they need to do is go to the oppinion forum which would take less time then they spent on the banner.)

I totally disagree with him about the new logo, I think the quality of banners as a whole has improved. I've been voting for a lot of banners lately, and there was a time when I was down to voting for 5 out of 60. There have been some really good, original banners of late.

And he's crazy to attack Sepuki, It wasn't amazingly original, but I wouldn't call it cliched, and it was certainly well made. Plus, the "Confusing the masses" one was excelent.

Aww. I feel all warm and fuzzy. ^^. *hugs for teh PenPen.*

See, on some level I agree with what he/she/it was saying, too. But I mean...that's why you vote, you know? Once the community on whole tires of it, those gags will stop getting Worthied. I don't see the point in whining about it, much less IMing a banner maker to flame them. O_o.

Try to look at it from his perspective: he's 14, and he's just learning about clichés (omg I used é) and is old enough to finally coherently express disdain for an idea. Add on to that the fact that a *lot* of banners really do have recurring ideas and images. Then add in the internet and take away identity. Sepuki, to him you're just a faceless entity that made a banner he didn't like, so he took it up directly. And, since your banner is well-made, it is a prime target because it's very attractive visually but expresses a very formulaic idea.

I'm not trying to encourage attacks or justify his, but I don't think it is at all unsurprising.

More related to the threatening idea... most city and state police have internet crime divisions now (and lucky you, if your harassed or threatened from a person in another state, it's a federal matter). Harassment and threats of physical harm are crimes. You might not want to prosicute, but you can always get it put on people's criminal records and scare the shit out of young ones like this guy when the cops come a pounding on your door. This is, assuming his/her true identity can be obtained. In this case, if the IM name was registered on this site i think the admins would be under soem sort of legal obligation to divulge this information... but i could be mistaken on that last part...

I already know who this person is but as it's done in private it's not an org matter. I spoke to phade about this last night after a different incident and it was decided that we wouldn't ban people form the org based on things they do in private. If there's anything they do in private that they should not be doing, that's a matter for the revelant authorities.

Like I said, if anything happens on the org then I'll be all over it. I know who this user is on the site.

Just for future reference, here's a great way to deal with banners you don't like. I'd recommend it to anyone complaining.

1) Get firefox
2) Get <a href="https://addons.update.mozilla.org/exten ... Adblock
3) Add "http://www.animemusicvideos.org/_media/sitebanners/*" to Adblock
4) Shut up

Incidently, adblock can also deal with the new banner if you happen to not like it.
