You cannot read the discs with any computer drive on the market. You have to use the GC to read the disk. You connect the GC to your computer using the broadband adapter and standard network cable. The idea is to network the GC to the PC, then run a program on the GC that reads the contents of the disc and then sends it over the cable to the PC.LightningCountX wrote:one question though...why would i need a broadband adapter for the GC, and phantasy star? Is that just an example or what? All i want is to rip Resident Evil 1-3 off the cube.

nonononononononoNO!!!!
ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!
u cant just put it in the DVD an say WOOPDEDOO!
dear god man...if u could do that wed all have copied gamecube games runnin...for ur imformation window swill actually crash.
u need all for these reasons...
1. Because of Barcode protection it impossible for a NGC disc to b read by a conventional DVD drive...
2. The only way to rip the disc is to use the gamecube itself as a reader and send the ripped information to ur PC, the only way to hook a gamecube to a computer is through a network thus the need a broadband adapter to hook the gamecube to the network and thus to the PC
3. PSO because it is the only game with an exploit in order to get code running on ur gamecube...in this case a program running on the cube that will turn the gamecube into a NGC dvd reader and also copy all information from the disc and send it to the PC, copying the game as a gamecube ISO from which u can extract the video and sound files...
The same method was alredy employed before on the Sega Dreamcast with its own media format...
This is the ONLY way to rip information from a gamecube...
this said its also thanks to this ppl are able to create their own personal minigames^^

Well, i was hoping to just get a capture card, and hooking the gamecubes video in plug into the capture card and getting some type of recording program to record the game like that or something. I guess ill get the network adapter and do it your way.

k then^^
also ur in luck...Capcom uses the sofdec video codec for all their FMV so it shouldnt be a problem...
once u have the gamecube image on ur comp the tough part will be finding the actual video file
once u find it and extract it from the image use the program CubeMedia.exe to read the file to see what u have and then convert it to a more common codec^^
any questions PM me
