I just enjoy learning about it, so I like to use every tool I can to make my encodes and edits look as good as possible. I write fun stuff like this to help me accomplish that goal. (That script, by the way, isn't really all that complicated -- if you step through it it's very easy to figure out what it does.)

That sure doesn't look fun. As for me, I like to write fun stuff like this. Which really isn't all that fun, considering the various flames I recieve.

Anyways, I found a flaw that destroys the whole thing. There is interlacing in the whole episode. Sorry for wasting everybody's time, so go read EADFAG to do it the write way.

I enjoy working on AMV's as a hobby, and I do it to be known. I've discovered that I suck at writing or even copying any kind of code using AVIsynth, and can barely get past the bare essentiails in VirtualDub. It's annoying as fuck-all to be me.[/url]

1) DirectShow Filters - this is a VERY BAD way of doing this. You can register filters from DVD playback software like PowerDVD and this will sometimes allow you to open up vobs in programs like Premiere if they are named .mpg. However, this method is NOT frame accurate at all and is a terrible way to edit DVDs. Unfortunately this is the method that that many modern video editing programs are using when they say they support MPEG2 editing. Remember that MPEG 1 and 2 are difficult formats to edit with because they have delta frames and so on - be very careful when usingDirectShow methods as they are not accurate especially with MPEG2 footage.

the guide is excellent and easily understandable. im not sure how anyone gets confused by it - maybe impatience?

Digital video is not easy to learn, but it is not impossible for anyone to get a good grasp of it. All it takes is the will to sit down, read, and - most importantly - experiment. Who knows, you might actually end up finding it enjoyable.
