I won't say what's 'fucked up', because I don't think anything is, but I'll tell you what I find unimpressive about rap.

-A virtual lack of either melody or harmony
-Very simplistic use of basic rhythms. (and, by extention, a virtual lack of any complex rhythms)
-Very narrow selection of themes and crude, unimaginative lyrics

All this translate into a basic, rhythm-driven type of music with unsophisticated lyrics.

Now, I know why you like it, and I have sympathies for your reasons. But this is why I'm not very interested in it.

i love how people are saying what they like/dislike AND saying "this thread is stupid and pointless" (myself included :p)

about rap: son_goten, dont go on the offensive, christ. different people like different things. some people want instruments and imagination and melody, and some people want thugs.

also about rap: run dmc, beastie boys, NWA, public enemy, kurtis blow, grandmaster flash, biz markie, and afrika bambatuu (sp?) all kick ass.

I'll admit I've heard very few of their songs, but "The Bad Touch" was just such a good song

Tupac And Nas' has harmony & melody just check out their songs
they're good Nas' is makin' his instrumentals from mozart classics
he jusat makes a few edits most of his instrumentals we're made by a piano
or a guitar

Progressive or neo-classical metal. And if you can't keep it to non-subjective things, don't even bother posting. Because when it comes to subjectivity, nothing is right or wrong except to the person who has that opinion.
