YUV12 and YUV2

Can't Mpeg-2 be set to YUV 4:4:2 and YUV 4:4:4? (With an encoder/decoder at a the high end being capable of doing so) I know TMPGENC can do YUV 4:4:2 in HP@HL

If the images didn't 404 for me.

And y es, MPEG2 HP@HL can do 4:2:2 colorspace, which is why I said DVD-spec, because DVD-spec MPEG2 is always MP@ML which is only 4:2:0.

And YUV is not a codec, so uncompressed YUV can be any number of colorsamples it wants.
