I heard that in the clips of real things in the End Of Evangelion you can see complaint letters given to the director about the TV show. Can anyone confirm this?

That is not a myth. I can assure you without a doubt that a number of complaint letters were flashed by in the movie End of Evangelion. GAINAX received thousands and thousands of angry letters from people who did not like the end of the TV show.

I was informed that at the screening of End of Evangelion, Anno, durring a Q and A session that followed, gave a good tongue lashing to some of the complaining fans. I trust my source (as he gave me a rough idea of the comments), but I can't confirm that last bit with 100% certainty.
