I don't think anybody could paly a convincing Rei. and that's about all i'm worried about. if they screw up Rei, boy do they have to look out for car boombs.

I don't think there is an actress out there who can play Rei well. Strange, in the modern American tradition of under- and non-acting, you still can't find someone who can play such an apathetic-looking character... paradoxically, apathy is likely the most difficult 'emotion' to act out.

Rei isn't apathetic. Sometimes stoic, but never apathetic.

I've been ignoring this for a while now, but it seems to be true. Kinda funny thought when I put "live action Evangelion" in a search, whole bunch of discussion boards come up.

Anyway, I hope this doesn't turn out like SF. I wonder what the story will be like. They can't condense 26 episodes into a 2 hour movie. Most hack writers today can't write a trilogy (and I wish that cliche would die). Everything doesn't need to be a trilogy. I don't think it'll have too many big names in it. It'll probably turn into a love story like Titanic or Pearl Harbor

IMO, they won't have the same character interaction as the anime and there won't be enough blood to make me like it otherwise.

Titanic had some major lapses in judgement on the parts of the characters, but it wasn't that bad. And Pearl Harbor kicked ass!
