I found it (DN Angel episode 1) fairly entertaining as well. Kinda like X meets Groove Adventure RAVE meets Tokyo Underground. However, considering some of the things that happen and the ages of the lead characters, this one's probably being targeted at younger viewers. But has that ever stopped me before? Nah. :)

Do Critics Really Know What They Are Talking About?

I'm told DNAngel kinda sucks too, and it strays from the manga a good bit. I also heard its got lots of female characters though ^_^

Okay, who sees anything wrong with this comment.
Sure, everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but what right do you have saying something sucks when the only thing you know about it is what 'I've heard' and 'I'm told'.
I happen to have seen both DNAngel and Stellvia. They are nice lighthearted shows that sort of give you a 'feel good' feeling at the end.
There's nothing wrong with that. Sure, they're not the most interesting anime out there, but I've seen worse (much worse).
Example: I heard that Ghost in the Shell/Akira/whatever was the absolute coolest anime movie ever so I watched it and it turned out to be nothing but a bunch of hyped up crap.
Point is, pay attention to stuff, make notes, experience for yourself, THEN you can criticize all you want.
