dunno about other anime in Japan.. but Korea's coming out with a load of stuff nowadays, like the upcoming movie called "Wonderful Days". it seems real interesting, but the girl looks almost like a guy with a goatee.that is, if u see her front view.
more info on "Wonderful Days" can be found at the official web site. the trailers are breah-taking.. i believe the storyline will be as good as the eye-candy.

So in other words, one part of the community is waging war on another part of the community because they take their community seriously enough to want to do so. Then they tell the powerless side to get over the loss cause it's just an online community. I'm glad people make so much sense." -- Tab

wolfs rain rules.
but what I'm looking for is a real cool one, the next FLCL or trigun. How much longer until a new anime comes along that'll blow everyone away?

Everyone I talked to that has watched SaiKano was blown away by it. But the main reason is because it's so sad. It is probably the saddest thing I've ever experienced, wasting 2 boxes of tissues in the process. GONZO really did a good job adapting it from the manga and it is a very heart-wrenching anime that while it has a seemingly generic type of anime plot, it is so different from other animes in an emotional way. It also lets you pick if you want a happy or sad ending as well, I stopped at episode 10 the first time through, but the second time I went all the way through and it was even sadder finding out what happened afterwards. I saw some similarities in main characters with SaiKano and LAIN. It also depicts the sorrow of war pretty well, I found those scenes at least as moving as the ones in Grave of the Fireflies, if not more. It's the type of anime that won't appeal to everybody though, and again it is very very sad. It's so sad it'll makes you contemplate suicide, even more than LAIN did for some strange reason.

Suicide's for wussies.
But yes, Saikano is incredibly sad. I haven't seen all of it, tho.
And everyone should check out "Hoshi no Koe"(Voices of a distant Star or something). It was made by a man and his wife, even the voices were made by them. It's an incredible single-episode work, even more so when you realize only one man animated and did all of it...

Anime
One anime that hasn't been picked up yet is: Rose of Versailles. And I'm cursing about such. I want DVDs of the series but the Japanese DVDs would cost me $400 for just 40 episodes.
