Seriously, where is it required that the local hosting needs to be better than other hosts?

Free hosting comes with its quirks. Since the .Org is providing this service, it makes sense that it should want to retain a degree of control over its servers. If this turns you off and you'd prefer another source of hosting, then more power to ya. But you can't undo what's already been done, since technically you already agreed it prior to uploading anything.
